As an ex- Washingtonian (26 years - now back in sunny SoCal where I can actually use my convertibles), I wholeheartedly agree.. 

Switch it to injection and get rid of the hood bulge. Unfortunately, as I live in Cali, the draconian 1975 and up have to be smogged rule makes this a no deal for me...
