How dare you question the outrage machine?  That’s....outrageous!

Come on, based on the video you can’t honestly believe this person deserves criminal charges...

This is really silly advice. Towards the end of the article you point out that you simply need to bury the animal deep enough and it will be fine.

Agreed. That video shows him grabbing for his own phone, and then the chair slowly topples over and she harmlessly falls off of it as she maneuvers to prevent him from getting his property back. It’s not a pretty image, and I don’t think either of the people involved are acting like adults, but he should be arrested

I'm as performatively outraged a liberal as they come. But I did not watch that video and see someone committing a crime.

He’s a big asshole probably, but the video didn’t really look to me like what I think of when I hear “dragging her off a metal chair”. He grabbed at the phone, she lost her balance trying to hold it away from him, and the chair started to tip. Neither of them should be ripping the phone out of each other’s hands but

Now playing

Here he is, viciously knocking her to the ground.

I’m the same age as both of you and I’m really leaning in to how little I care about the admiration or approval of young bucks at the gym.

This article’s claim is that there is no healthy compromise

You cannot prove that any individual case of cancer is due to anything, so your hypothetical is meaningless. Really - a lifelong smoker that gets lung cancer can’t say that smoking caused their cancer. We can predict that a lifelong smoker is much more likely to get lung cancer than someone who has never smoked, but

“you sound pretty worked up”

Fuck this anti-intellectual bullshit.

Yes to this. I hate when the author just assumes that what they have to say is the absolute truth and that the reader is an idiot that must be corrected. Also, I just bought a can crusher too but I need it to store them. I am going to melt down the cans myself and cast stuff.

We’re not “overdue”. That’s not how probability and statistics work. The probability of a large impact doesn’t increase because there hasn’t been one in an unusually long time. Same as the probability of a certain lotto number coming up doesn’t increase because it hasn’t come up in a long time.

The recyclers here started closing to the public in total or are no only open 11a-2:30p with 11:45-1:15 closed. Kind of makes recycling a non option for the working.

Yeah, I’ll just drop them off when I’m on my way to your work.

Easy... for you.

Sorry, just bought a can crusher a few months ago and the amount of garbage bags it saves is tremendous. Also, scrolling through the articles here from the last month or so and so many start with “You should be”, “You’re doing ____ wrong”, and this one, “Don’t ____”..

What’s up with the annoying absolute statements

My recycling fills up twice as fast as my garbage, yet my garbage is picked up once a week and recycling only once every two weeks. This means that if I don’t crush my cans, I will just put them where there is space, my garbage. Change the size of city required bin, change the frequency that they pick it up, let me
