Thank you for the civil response. (I already had to dismiss one asshole) I can’t disagree with anything you said, at all. I just can’t agree with calling it an injury waiting to happen, as others have. It *can* be used safely. Otherwise at the very least gyms that own them wouldn’t be able to get insurance or they

You will kneel whilst you eat that bologna sandwich.

As the child of a teacher, aw hell no.  Same with medical professionals and their patients.

I understand that. But I refused to give my cell number to my customers when I first came on board as well. I told them the same thing, but that they could call my office and leave a VM or email. Maybe I’m in a unique situation but its worked out for the last 5 years (and also at my old place of employment the 11

I’ve always gone a step further. I have explained to people that nothing we do is mission-critical from a timeliness standpoint so I will not give my personal cell phone number to anybody but my direct supervisors and I will not ever answer calls after hours, and that they should leave a voicemail and I will address

Trying to decipher this gave me a headache. This is like reading stream of consciousness text from somebody who just drank a case of Red Bull.  But I love Phil so I’m hoping it was positive.

It is absolutely equal if the Smith machine isn’t counterbalanced. It may even be more weight due to friction and the weight of the hooks. Lots of old school non counterbalanced smith machines are still in service in non globogyms.

If it isn’t busy go for it.  Never curl in the squat rack though.  If you want to be cheeky, and are the right height, go do box zercher squats on the bench press.  Had to do that a few times when the squat racks were full.  Plenty of odd looks with that one.

No you are not, unless you have no idea what you are doing, please stop perpetuating that myth. Is it the best thing to use, no, of course not. But you are not “setting yourself up for injury.”

If that is what you are after, heavy hip thrusters (also called glute bridges and about 10 million other names) is your golden exercise.

They just don't teach the classics anymore 😂

Damn you’re a nostalgia machine today MC.

I still say NYC like this all the time, when it comes up in conversation. I keep getting more and more ‘WTF?’-looks as time goes by, it’s a shame.

In the US, the standard measurement for a “cup” of coffee is roughly 5 ounces

You said “standard measurement.” And there is only one standard measurement in the US for a cup and that is 8 oz.

Until we finally officially switch over to the metric system, I’m going to go by the USCS and the FDA’s guidelines for household measures over some foreign made coffee machine (not knocking foreigners, just their lack of experience with our stupid system) or what some graphic designer put on a package of coffee

A cup means 8 fluid oz. Same as it always does. There is no “standard measurement” beyond that.

This is exactly what I do, and I use my Chase Amazon card, so I also get a nice chunk of Amazon reward points at the end of the month.

Biggest scam in my “city” is trying to convince the rest of the country that we are a smart city (We have 8.3 million businessinsider top #10 lists to prove it!!! ugh), when in fact we are barely any better than the rest of Alabama. The service industry around here has a meth problem, the contracting and construction

Those are all the new ones with the screen doors, right?
