Excellent point! It's a similar mindset.
No, thank YOU for your support. I appreciate it.
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I appreciate it.
Thanks for your supportive reply. All I was really trying to do is point out that there is another point of view, and a lot of great people like you have recognized that.
Thanks for your thoughtful response. I'm not sure that what you're talking about is sustainable on a global scale, but it would be a great place to start. Hell, anything is better than what we're currently doing.
If only we could harness the power of the defensive reactions of meat eaters for good!
Thanks for your support, btw. Helps a lot in the midst of this shitstorm of thoughtless derision.
I know, right?
Thank YOU for your positive comment.
Thanks for your comment and your support, and I'm really sorry about your brother. I think it's great that you consume food thoughtfully, which is really what my initial comment was about. I agree with you about the livestock business - the devastating environmental impact is especially concerning right now. If you…
Thanks for your comment. You make a very interesting point. Unfortunately, I do expect the hate, because I encounter it a lot, and mostly from people who purport to be interested in my point of view - until, of course, they find my answers to be an indictment of their own choices.
Thanks, I've gotten a few really great supportive comments from meat eaters, and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Thank you for your support! The positive comments are definitely helping me wade through this shitstorm of defensive negativity.
Thanks for your support, I appreciate it, and I appreciate anyone who consumes food thoughtfully, as you obviously do.
Thank YOU for your support! I can identify with what you're saying for sure.
Thanks, I really appreciate your support in the midst of all the batshit crazy responses I've gotten. Personally, I appreciate anyone who is consuming food thoughtfully, and oh my god the WILLFUL ignorance about veg diets are pretty stunning.
Thanks, you comment made me laugh, and I appreciate your support in the midst of the shitstorm of derision I woke up to this morning.
You make excellent points, and if you haven't seen the UN report on the devastating environmental effects of livestock (Livestock's Long Shadow), you should check it out. Naked lunch…
I have heard the term but haven't really investigated the ideas behind it. Thanks for the link and for your support. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for your reply. I can definitely relate to how it seems that meat eaters are irritated just by our mere presence. I call it a meat culture, because of exactly what you're talking about. People who don't eat meat are "difficult," "rude," "smug." etc. It's not just the norm, it's a norm that, if you deviate…
Oh my god, you really nailed it. When someone I don't know well asks me now in a social setting, I actually just say "You know, I'm not sure we should talk about this, because it tends to illicit a really defensive reaction from meat eaters." It never stops them, but at least when they start getting super hyped up…
