I was saying the same thing about the Maryland student newspaper exposing the former AD’s wrongdoings.  Also, OSU student newspaper had requested Urban Meyers cell phone records but the University slow rolled them giving Urban Meyer time to delete his texts.  A lot of great journalism going on at student newspapers…

I don’t know if you listen to the Dan Le Batard show but his co-host Stugotz has a running gag where he shits on Art Briles and jokes about him being in hell. Good stuff.

People like Engler are the reason why people like Larry Nassar can get away with their crimes for so long.  He clearly cares not one whit for the victims (or anything really) other than how his University is perceived in the media.  Nassar and Engler will probably be seeing a lot of each other in hell.

I’m not sure what your point is? Most big College newspapers are Independent.  I didn’t say anything about them having to give a shit about what the university does and doesn’t want reported, just that I appreciated their moxie for doing said reporting.

I always liked the Hank Stram look as well.

It’s a great experience for aspiring young journalists and hopefully prepares them well to take on governments, corporations, etc. later in their careers.  Plus it’s just heartening to see young adults standing up for transparency and what is right while the so called “adults in the room” squirm under the pressure…

I like how all these places where they are sweeping sexual assault and domestic violence under the rugs claim that respect for women is one of their “Core Values”. I really love when student newspapers expose wrongdoing at their own schools, particularly when they expose problems within the Athletic Department. That shows some real moxie and it’s why I love journalism in this country.  Kudos to them.

If you’re a fan of close contests (and I know I am) then methinks it won’t be long before the Big 10 is neck and neck with another conference.  Just a hunch.

A cool idea would be one day a year when coaches from other sports had to wear the uniform of the sport they coach.  I’d love to see Stan Van Gundy in shorts and a tank top, or Andy Reid wearing pads.  

Did it look weird when Connie Mack wore a suit?  I think it would just look “weird” to people who are used to seeing them wear uniforms.  

I think a better question is “Why do they wear uniforms?”
