I'm so sick of the extremes. Between the people who think Avery's a saint and should be released today, and then my family (who are from or live in a county adjacent to Manitowac) who think that Avery is 100% guilty, refuse to watch MAM, and are "disappointed" in me for thinking he deserves a new trial, I feel like

I hope they make a plot arc where Horsin' Around gets a sequel.

I finally finished watching the show, and although it was a little too whitewashing of Avery I do think it established reasonable doubt. I thought he was for sure guilty at the time but there was a lot I didn't know. And I definitely think Dassey is innocent.

She's working in Ohio now. I saw her twitter.

Do you remember Prince and Me they pronounced it "Mani-TOE-wac"? At least now the nation knows how to say it.

I think the show made me believe that there's reasonable doubt but I agree it's not cut and dried enough for this to be appropriate. Now if they wrote a song about Brendan Dassey, I could maybe get behind that.

I think that the local newscasts (at least in Calumet County) addressed Brendan's cognitive deficits but what they didn't show was the questionable interviewing techniques that were used with him. I agree with you that we didn't know the extent to which Manitowac County was involved in the investigation.

Yes, two different claims. I don't know if they were true, obviously. I can't access the original story because it's back in a 2006 edition of the Appleton Post Crescent, but it's excerpted here http://onmilwaukee.com/movi…

Back in 2007, I believed that he was guilty because Brendan Dassey had bleach on his jeans.

There was also the possibility that he thought he was invincible because of his prior wrongful conviction. That was a pretty popular theory back in 2007.

It hurt their case too because I can say for a fact that the people who probably needed the most convincing (Wisconsin locals who think he's guilty) see the blatant whitewashing and refuse to believe the rest of it, no matter what. Honestly, I'm pretty annoyed by it even though I thought the show raised some other

The defense made their case very clear and the trial focused on it quite a bit. And the locals were certainly divided on whether or not Avery was framed, at least in Calumet County.

He actually had a lot of history of violence against women, including his behavior towards his ex-wife and an allegation of rape. Doesn't make him a murderer, but his background is a little more extensive than the documentary showed.

Manitowac is pretty terrible but don't judge all of Wisconsin based upon it.

There was also a woman who claimed that Avery raped her, and Avery reportedly admitted to Jodi (IIRC) that it was true.

I believe he would have had to remove the engine from the car in order to crush it.

I'm reading so much press about how respectful and authentic the show is to Mexicans. And that's great. But the first episode just wasn't funny. I think I said "Heh" three times.

I love this show so much. Although the second episode made me very sad as a Galavant/Isabella shipper.

I lived in the area at the time, most of those clips were of our local anchors, and I don't agree with you. The media showed the defense's side. Even if you think local coverage was biased, Milwaukee media covered it extremely well. I wish people would stop acting like everyone in the area was hoodwinked based on

I'm not sure if I agree with you on that. At least in Calumet County, the locals were extremely divided on the Avery case.
