I agree. From Software games are a unique experience. They aren’t technical show pieces, but they are a masterclass in design. Every corner feels hand crafted. So I understand more and more people clamoring for the games to be more accessible.

As far as I can tell, yes. You have a journal where you can have many quests logged, but you only get waypoints and objectives listed for one quest at a time.  It is easy to cycle between then though.

Thankfully the game does have a built in offline mode. You miss out on the occasional warning/clue messages from other players, but honestly the majority of the messages in ER are just troll nonsense anyway.  You probably won’t be missing much.

Sounds like one player was dropping the sword for another player to pick up. I guess invaders can pick up intentionally dropped items? Though it does seem silly to be trying a trade like that with an impending invasion. Maybe they missed the message because they were in menus?

It is very annoying how much PvP drives changes. Of course, From will make pointless changes to PvE too. For example when they have nerfed summons. Summons aren’t even a factor in PvP, but I guess From can’t have people having too much fun.

The DS community was much better than things are now. The community gets worse with each new From game. However, I remember a fair amount of “git gud” comments associated with the OG DS. It did start then and has only gotten worse since.
