OK.  Not sure I agree, but I was curious about what made up this “rigid segregation”.

So you are of the opinion that being interactive disqualifies games from being art?

You’re just pointlessly conflating different issues.  Their point was to screw over the hedge funds that shorted GME.  Specifically Melvin.  Which is exactly what happened and now the world is talking about it.

Please. I’ve seen the speculation that this may hasten GameStop’s demise, but that has yet to be seen. At this point they are basically the new Blockbuster. They are likely doomed regardless. And AMC was actually helped by all of this. They were able to raise something around $600M in capital.

Outside the guy mentioned here most involved with the squeeze were just average retail traders investing a few hundred or few thousand. Even this guy which ultimately ended up putting close to a million in stock is a lightweight compared the billionaire hedge fund guys. It’s was very much David vs Goliath even if a

I guess I view the retail traders here as the bad guys with a point.

Honest question, are you referring to the hedge funds doing the shorting or people like Gill who act like they’re just out to even the playing field but are actually getting people to inflate stocks he’s personally invested in so he can make a shit ton of money?]

If you read the tweets about this the 1% package is actually a MacBook Pro, Series 6 Apple, and an iPhone 12 Pro.

Well, yes, I meant this more recent flurry of news and impending public release.

I wish MS would find a way to make this happen, but from what was posted when the gameplay of this was first leaked a few days ago it sounds like MGM/EON basically hate video games and had all kinds of stupid requirements. Nintendo themselves have previously stated that they were not the hang up.

Sure, that’s fine and their right. I just think it’s silly and unrealistic. If nothing else it would have leaked when they went to start filming.

What do you call major? Because just knowing they exist really isn’t that big of a deal IMO, but that it what Nintendo apparently bailed over. And for something like this it is very hard to keep a cap on especially when you start trying to film the thing. People will find out and this is especially true if the

Yeah, I mostly just play co-op games with friends and have done this for a while. There are just waaay too many idiots in general online play. There are good people out there though. I’ve accepted a few invites in games like The Division 2 and met some good people, but I’ve also ended up in groups with toxic idiots

It just seems like unrealistic expectations for this kind of project especially when it involves two completely different companies based in different countries. It was bound to leak at some point before release.

Yeah, it sounds like it was. My point was that Nintendo seems to have had some pretty unrealistic expectations for this kind of project.

Is that the patent, really? Buttons on the back? Because, yeah, I was installing buttons on the back of controllers back in the OG XBox days. It’s easy. A little wire, some solder, a drill, and a momentary push button.

And? I never said they were the end.  Melvin was the target and they got them for 53% of their value.  And now there is talk among government officials that maybe shorting should be illegal.    It might not go anywhere yet, but stuff like this takes time and the ball has started rolling.

I was hoping for a return of the car combat genre.  This doesn’t seem like it.

Melvin Capital, which was the main target, is already out and took a huge loss in doing so.

Nah... These were people with some disposable income and some without that took risks against multi-billionaires.  It’s not even remotely the same weight class.
