They have about 50% of the market in the US give or take a few percentage points depending on you count (install base, activations, active devices, etc...) and control about 70% of the mobile market revenue.

No, it’s not:

First, so? They own Windows. According to your post they should be able to package what they want with it.

That didn’t work out like that for MS, Windows, and IE.

I’m pretty sure your non-existent app will continue to be non-existent.  Or did an app recently release?

What a crock of shit. Why would MS, or anyone else, agree to breaking each game out into its own app especially when the whole idea is you don’t download each game in the first place? This is like insisting that Netflix must submit all content for review and every show or movie must have its own app. It makes zero

Yeah, that is what I was thinking about when I said it would be a painful sell. It depends on how much money they are losing they to sell at a lower price point. With the PS3 they had to scramble to revise the system to cut costs (e.g. reducing backwards compatibility).

That would be a bold move. But there have been rumors off and on over the last few months that Sony has been struggling with the keeping the price of production down on the PS5. So I would be shocked if they went very low.

Yeah, but when you acknowledged they can be loud you introduced another point of discussion which others are saying is also a problem.

I do think MS settled on a nice price point, but they are taking a different approach than Sony and that gives Sony a little wiggle room. Sony can’t match the $299 price point, but MS is selling an lower power system as that price point. Sony is selling two systems with the same power, but one is diskless.

Now playing

Digital Foundry had a video out 5 months ago where you could see its size. Granted now you can see people making direct comparisons with other systems, but the DF video shows how it’s all assembled and the size is pretty apparent.

Right, but you did say in your own comment that you feel consoles generally do well with cooling while acknowledging that they can be loud. Others are just pointing out being loud in of itself is a cooling issue. And I agree with them. I find loud fans to be obnoxious. If the XSX being larger than normal allows it

Yeah, I just hit up YouTube to watch some video of it on a PS3 to make sure nostalgia and the fact it followed Immortals wasn’t clouding my judgement.  But, no, it’s exactly like you think.  It does look a little better, but it genuinely looks more like a remaster.

My friends and I got so good at games like Goldeneye that we would run around the levels facing the walls the entire time.  We could navigate the levels without looking where we were going.  This made it harder to tell exactly where each person was.  We would only look away from the walls if we thought we were near

I know this discussion is OT to the main topic, but I’ve never thought about this before. Now that I think about it it is kind of odd. Most other symbols come after numbers... cents, temps, weights, lengths, and nearly all other forms of measurement are noted after the numerical values. I wonder how this came to be

The PS5’s ISP router look has grown on me. I suppose the same could happen here, but I’m doubtful. I just find the large, plain, off-center black circle visually distracting. The PS5’s popped collar look was also visually distracting initially, but for me it was in a “that’s unusual” kind of way. The XSS is

I guess visibility for the venting is at least one positive for this design.

That was probably always intent, but Ubisoft either didn’t know for sure the day the systems would launch or were told to keep it quiet. Now that MS has officially revealed the date they have officially changed the release date for AC to match.

Not sure what you are on about. Most speakers look like, or are, polished wood, glossy piano black, or something along those lines. Or they are hidden in places like the ceiling. This console looks like a speaker you would see at a drive through or an old school drive in theater where they had speakers mounted on

Nah, I’m looking forward to the game as well.  I play all the main AC games.
