Yes, it means exactly that. What Epic has been doing is cutting deals for customers and devs/pubs because Steam dominates the market.  What Apple is doing is saying, “FU, we control the market you have to do what we say”.

What Epic did was add direct pay to a single game. Apple delisted it. Then Epic filed a legal complaint. Then Apple decided to cut them off from dev tools for UE which has literally nothing to do with the case. It’s a move to create pressure on Epic, but had no direct relation to the issue. The harm to other devs

The only reason Epic isn’t legally considered a monopoly is because they don’t have the dominant market share.

And it was immediately debunked as being misleading.  Not surprising.  And even it it were not does it matter?  Apple is the gatekeeper.  They have to go through them one way or another.  They tried one way and now another.

Well, first, your post really doesn’t have anything to do with my response to the OP. That aside I don’t know how strong Epic’s case is here, but the reasons I’ve seen discussed have to do with how much of the market Apple controls; the importance of smart phones (e.g. they’ve largely replaced the function of PCs for

Do you need one?

The harm is coming from Apple, not Epic.  Apple dragged the others into this fight.  And the other companies that have said anything have supported Epic.

Yup, sounds like the rules allow for a little fun over water, but you have stay clear of bridges and watercraft.

It had an annoying control or two, but I didn’t feel like it ruined the game.  It’s a trivial change and later games did use more standard controls schemes so surely the remaster will use the new schemes as well.

A lot of people without jobs, but there’s also been a boom in some recreational industries including segments of gaming. People that still have regular income have had fewer options on where to spend it. No sports to attend, movies closed, bars closed, restaurants closed, etc...

Sure, but lets not pretend like most people are driving 65mph for that amount of time. The speed limits on most highways in California, after you leave the populated areas, is 70mph. The majority of drivers are driving at speeds closer to 80mph, if not faster. We aren’t the only state with highways offering a speed

How many people really plan on a cross country drive when you can fly for $300 round trip anyways?

We bought our kids new bikes recently and ran into the same thing. There were waiting lists months long   They said it was a combination of things. Some of the factories making frames and other parts in China were interrupted and then they under estimated the demand and so now are way behind in production.

I kind of get that, but looking at that damage this looks genuinely dangerous.  That frame clearly can’t cut it off road.

Being hosted on the App Store has demonstrable value and Apple, as the owner of the App Store, has every right to monetize that value. If you don’t agree with those terms, you’re entirely free to launch your own store app on a more open platform like Android. Epic is essentially saying that they want to reap all the

What’s amusing about how people view Tencent is their majority stakeholder is a South African firm.  But they are just viewed as an arm of the Chinese government.

Is Apple trying to shoot themselves in the foot?  These moves only demonstrate the problem Epic is claiming against them.

Could be.  We didn’t cover 1984 when I was in school, but maybe it’s more common than I’m aware.

I think maybe you need to work, desperately, on your reading comprehension. I said I “personally” think it’s brilliant and no where did I say I was special for recognizing the parody. And you say it’s obvious, but the poster to whom I was talking said he didn’t think many would recognize the parody. So, in fact,

Ehhh... it’s a bit more complicated than you make it out to be.
