For a while his companions were almost exclusively alien: Leela, k9, Romana I, Romana II, and Adric. It started to create a disconnect. The contemporary human companion is a way for the audience to project ourselves into the show. I really enjoyed New-Who's use of Rose as our anchor, and Jack as our alien.

one of my irrational fears is gravity inverting. That clip practically gave me a panic attack

I just finished the last completed book the other day. With those cliffhangers, I'm sure someone won't be making it.

As of the last book, she is the only main character in her location. So she is safe... for now.

René Descartes walks into a bar.

Been a proud Farker for over 10 years, and I must say over the last few of those, I've noticed a trend towards maturity in the comments (within reason of course, we are still a sarcastic lot). Whereas once "slut-shaming" was the trend, "slut-shaming-shaming" has replaced it. Glad to hear that Drew is making it

Boys, get your Gardisil shots too! HPV can lead to nasty complications with us guys too.

Don't be afraid of the stigma, although you can get it from sexual activity, it is not exclusively so. Protect yourselves!

*I apologize in advance for this joke*

"Look! Two giant milk dispensers. Oh, and there's some big baby bottles too I guess."

I'm no Peta mouth-breather, but I find this in poor taste. Killing an animal should have a purpose (ie: food, defense, sanitation). This show is asking the models to kill an animal because it's funny and uncomfortable. That's not okay.

OH MY GOD!!!! Yes! I needed good news today. King's Quest got me into gaming.

I much prefer the one with the hand. The fingers look like hedges. If you read the book, the topiary hedge scene is the scariest moment in it. Sadly it didn't make it to the film.

I used to work for a certain TV network (Think, applause). Certain celebrities would tout body acceptance on air, but when it came time for their cast shots, these ladies wanted to look anything but "real". We called it "youthenizing". I had to dejowl, lipo, de arm-pit, iron, etc. To the point that it looked comical.
