And try to explain continuums of oppression and how microagressions pave the way for bigger atrocities and they just fucking explode. Not explode and go away, though — oh hell no. They they melge back together all Terminator 2 style and we have to keep dealing with them. HERBEDEEDITTER
People like that love dismissing these critiques of cultural phenomenons as less important than, like, rape, but then someone actually gets raped and they don't believe that's important, either.
All of your concerns are stupid because you're a woman and women only think about stupid things.
That's why I like both "female" and "thug" - they're instant clues as to who the sexist or racist asshole is. Otherwise it might take two, maybe even three more words before becoming dismissive of someone. I might even make it to "SJW" before telling someone to fuck off.
OH MY GOD, THIS IS EVERYTHING
Like, they're acting like these things they have supposedly observed about women are the result of biological essentialism.
Aww, you don't loiter, you contribute!
I read some comment (can't remember who wrote it) that made a really good point, which is that people use "females" to sound scientific when they make generalizations about women. Like, they're acting like these things they have supposedly observed about women are the result of biological essentialism. "Females are…
I never felt any way about the word "female" until I was on another blog and a guy chimed in an said that, in his experience, most of the men he knew that used it did so as a sort of substitute for the word bitch. He used a few sentences to illustrate:
I cannot recall a single instance where a guy referred to women as "females" when they were not an insecure and awkward person.
You can stop now, Midwestern Christians are not an oppressed group.
Oh, look at you! So cute! Trying so so hard to make the bwig bwad ladeez mad at you!
My groom spent at least 10 times more than I did for our wedding day outfits. I would like to mirror the ridiculous "logic" of your comment and make a sweeping negative generalization about men, based on my own personal experience, but I'll refrain.
Someone broke Megyn Kelly and I'm loving every. fucking. second.
I know people are having a fun time here shitting on him, but hey! This is a start! Hopefully he'll follow through with pushing for legislation that actually helps women instead of hurting them!
Because it's not our job to hold a seminar for some rando who can't take no for an answer on how to improve their game.
It took him 41 years to start listening to women.
Are you the real Taylor Swift? I doubt it and I feel like that lie reflects on you poorly as a person.
Men of colour, just like white men, treat women of colour worse than they treat white women. There's just a general idea out there that there are less or no consequences for treating WOC poorly. Doesn't matter if he's Inuit or not. I'd bet money that the same officer would have treated a white woman differently.
