Hey Jason, I’m brazilian, and even though I wasn’t old enough to comprehend the effect these cars had on the streets, it is well known that these trucks were the ultimate luxury in Brazil at the time. Trucks over here have always been seen as luxury vehicles, probably due to the high costs of importing cars.

too soon bro... too soon

As someone living in the capital of a country without Suburban sales but with a US embassy, it is surprising how you find these by the dozen

Not a Dodge Polara/Avenger, it's a Del Rey which is a luxury version of the second gen of the Corcel, a cousin of the Renault 12

It’s a Celta, just treat a Celta as a Celta, or you'll get into the mess that is GM Brazil

The 727 has all the proportions so perfect it seems like it was supposed to be at a museum, not flying around

Almost all of them, but I have a soft spot for L-1049 (ideally in Panair do Brasil livery), 727 (I still have a model of one of them in Pan Am livery), MD-11, trijets in general, 747s, VC10s, Concordes, A300s (where is the A300 love here?) and that’s only some of the civil planes

Brazil is often forgotten in the aviation history, even though it has a lot of interesting stories, i.e. the plane crash apparently caused by pilots switching off the radio in order to listen to the Brazil vs. Chile match for the World Cup qualifiers (Varig 254)

Brasília International (SBBR), it not only feels like home, but it looks so nice in all of it’s 1980’s styling (Also, can I get out of the grey?)

What is the weakest car that can total it?

I think I read it in Quatro Rodas, I think, on a special about classic Brazilian cars. They were talking about the one of the cars and they explained how the companies had MPs.

What actually happened, was that the military government offered MPs to work as security guards for the automakers, so they were allowed to use deadly force.

Yup, racetrack right next to the stadium, the Nelson Piquet Racetrack which held a non-championship race in 1974, won by Fittipaldi.

And it even has a Brasília plate. Candangos representing here!

And I was listening to the Snoop Dog remix of Riders on the Storm, thinking of the riced cars in Need for Speed and this pops up.

I have seen an Audi RS2 and a Fittipaldi Formula Vee

There's a reason Brazilians make fun of Portugal. And they don't know why. This video explains it

But Senna wasn't an ordinary racing driver. A three-time world champion, his well of natural talent, incredible skills at the limit, and hyper-aggressive driving style makes him rank among the greatest drivers in F1 history, and maybe even THE greatest driver, according to a lot of people.

Apparently, the father of my brother's friend helped them plan it out
