This has been a really enlightening and interesting back and forth, thanks to you both for the input!
good luck with yr move and thank you for the interesting dialogue! I for sure learned some important thangs through all of this and have a lot more thinking to do! Am also happy to have my ideas challenged and to grow in the process. sending good vibes to you!
totally agree! and I am sorry if I haven’t been as clear or as coherent as I would like. I’m writing from my phone as I watch the world cup.
include Toni Morrison, Anita Hill, Connie Chung and Sandra Day O’Connor and Anita Hill.
I'm a huge ally for the lgbtq movement. This is not discrimination. It's tantamount to forced speech. Refusing to bake a wedding cake that looks like any other wedding cake for a gay couple is discrimination. Refusing to decorate a cake with words that one does not agree with is not. There's nothing to indicate that…
Yes. For me, while I find that bakery’s attitude repugnant, it’s the same thing as if you walked in asking for a “Heil Hitler” cake—they have the right to say, “No, we don’t do that kind of cake here.” Which is different than if MrsPye and I walked in and said, “We want a wedding cake,” and the bakery—which made and…
Even as someone who is also extremely pro-gay rights, I do think there’s something to the argument that a baker should not be required by law to make a cake that says “Support Gay Marriage,” as opposed to being required by anti-discrimination law to just make a cake for a gay couple’s marriage.
Oh man, one of my facebook friends from high school posted a link to the Blaze article. He literally wrote “this is not the hateful article you may think it is” and the headline was “Bruce Jenner is not a woman. He is a sick, delusional man.” Spoiler alert it totally was the hateful article I expected it to be.
This is a you problem, not a Caitlyn Jenner problem.
Yeah it’s called Entourage
Congrats on being against rape.
I don't get the person who chooses to tell someone something that might be painful to hear in the middle of something fun. It seems kind of mean to me.
WRONG.
Nope. Best practices for suicide reporting recommend not using “committed,” which sounds like a crime or, to religious communities, like a sin, and “kill yourself” is just insensitive, crude, and poorly phrased. “Died by suicide” is the phrasing recommended by mental health professionals and the American Foundation…
Preach! Even if you try, it just fizzles into awkward tension and probably some crying and/or sex, and potentially crying during sex. Best just to peace out in a blaze of glory.
This! I like to think the person I dated is dead, and if I do see them, it's a demon that's taken over their body. I may have watched too much Buffy growing up.
What’s really shitty is when you make an agreement to tell each other, but then he doesn’t tell you and you find out from a mutual friend who saw it on Facebook before you.
I wish we had a Dave Berry. It really sucks having no good theatre, films, television or literature here in England. Please send more Kardashians, it’s a cultural wasteland, our Europe.
