Nailed it. My first thought when I saw the uproar was "Nobody flips out this badly over emaciated images and video of emaciated kids in Africa... why is this different?" And then I realized - we're not subjected to images of emaciated blonde haired, white kids from Texas. It shouldn't be different, but to some

First of all, it's HIPAA. Secondly, this isn't a violation of HIPAA.

I don't understand people complaining about this. Images of starving children with their faces showing are used all the time to compel people to donate to programs. They choose to use them because actually seeing a starving child, who's skeletal structure is visible, is much more moving than reading about one.

I disagree completely. There is nothing identifiable about the child in this picture and I wouldn't put it here if there was, trust me. But showing this photo adds a very powerful visual element to this story that hammers home the severity of the situation that words just would not be able to do. I say that as someone

You would be a bad cop.

The whole thing about eggs was so stupid to begin with. My dad religiously eats Egg Beaters because he's worried about cholesterol and that shit is fucking gross.

What if you're average looking? does it make you 5x more average? (is growing your hair out how you definitively determine whether you're attractive?)

Lips don't get Botoxed people! Ugh. Learn your shit. Rumor instantly dismissed.

The documentary How To Survive A Plague goes into much more detail about the stuff that they hinted at in Dallas Buyers Club.

This is awesome. I love you science!

I really do not understand the idea that it's ok for you steal something because you can't afford to buy it. There is lots of stuff I want but can't afford so I just don't have those things.

LOL, you could apply "well why should I pay when I could get it for free" to anything you steal. Because let's be clear, you cannot just magically "have it for free"; you are stealing it. You are taking a product that someone else created without paying that person. Ten or twelve bucks is not a lot of money for an

You are stealing, and you are fully aware that it is wrong. Don't blame the artist or the record company. If you didn't want to steal, you wouldn't. Your logic makes no sense. What's to stop you from pocketing small items when you go to the grocery store? It's okay, right, because if they didn't want you to steal the

Boobs, you're under arrest!

I want this embroidered on a pillow. And then I want to inappropriately hump the pillow. That's how much this metaphor means to me.

Snow is nature's sweatpants:

I would definitely change security questions and not engage him, but since it's a credit card I would be worried. What if he uses your credit card number for online shopping or something? Maybe discuss with the credit card people? Get a new card issued?
