“a couple grand more” for an M?  Nice try.  M’s are going for at least double this...

I bet they didn’t take into account the insane bumpiness of the Nordscheiffe and the fenders were slowly cutting into the tires on the larger bumps.  Looks like the blowout finally happened on a large compression.

I agree with your sentiment (that driver safety shouldn’t be sacrificed to “embiggen the show”) but i also agree with several commenters that it’s not Pirelli’s fault. Pirelli has the capability of making super or hyper-soft compounds last a whole race distance. This would negate the need for ANY pit stops and would

I learned the old-school way back in middle school with in-person lessons so the YouTube channels I watch are a bit more advanced than “Beginner.” That said, I found this blog with 5 recommended channels for beginner guitarists. See if you like any of them, and remember, PRACTICE.

and then the remaining 3% of car people still want a manual diesel 3-series touring.  or a new El Camino with the supercharged V8 from the CST-V.

Youtube. There’s hundreds of thousands of videos for free. Find yourself a teacher that you like and you can get the basics. Then, once COVID is over, I recommend finding a place to take in-person lessons with a teacher you like and get along with.

I disagree wit the comments about the nylon strings. Tone is not very important when you’re first starting off. comfort and commitment should be higher priorities.

Good thought on the MR2. I had forgotten about those. Not sure I’d recommend the DelSol though.  An old FWD car is a bit meh.

that’s disappointing.  Guess they’re on the upswing now.

huh... I test drove two S2000's at Carmax a couple years ago (an AP1 and an AP2) and both were 10-12k.  Maybe they’re starting to appreciate.

instead of the Porsche, I’d recommend an S2000. You can still find them for under 10k but just be mindful that it wasn’t beat to shit. If it’s been relatively cared for, that engine will run until the cows develop teleportation to come home.

This would be amazing, assuming that they actually give the cars performance enhancements.  more likely, they would do what Ford’s doing with the ST badge and slapping it on anything with a “sport” appearance package.

seems like a pretty black and white decision to me...

CP all the way. Take a decades-old Mercedes platform that’s already limp as a wet noodle, cut off the top so its even more flaccid, then charge as much as a new Hellcat.

if this person doesn’t get the Outback or the Mazda I will be seriously disappointed. The CX-5 is NOT a small car. It should be plenty big enough to haul around most stuff. and for those rare times where its not, that’s what rentals (or friends with trucks) are for.

I’m calling that this will be the next Gymkhana vehicle.

this only works if you have a second car. because inevitably, you’ll get into it and find something that needs replacing which you haven’t yet purchased and is only available from the dealer or needs a week to ship...

Depends.  These turbo head gaskets are good if you don’t bump the boost.  As soon as you start playing with the turbo, the clock starts ticking.
