Are they sure they want a car? Have they priced out the costs for insurance, parking, repairs, etc and weight it against the cost of just renting a car when needed.  That would be my first question.

you can guarantee that not a single one of these had the 500-mile break-in period followed...

Buy the rebuilt motor and slap it in.  Then when you have time, work on rebuilding the numbers-matching motor and when its complete, put that one in.  then you can keep or sell the second motor.

i’ve been rotating a vodka in too.  one of my friends owns a distillery and makes a great vodka from grapes grown in the Finger Lakes wine region of NY state.  combine that with a nice ginger beer and a squeeze of lime.
