counterpoint: if the removable hardtop is cheaper than $2755 (the difference between a soft-top Club and RF Club) then this is a good idea for people living in areas with 4 distinct seasons. You can put the hard top on in the winter to help insulate but keep it off in the summer.

think of the synchros as just wet versions (i.e. covered in trans fluid) of a manual transmission clutch disk.  They use friction to gradually change the rotational speeds of two shafts running at different speeds.

using the clutch also saves the synchros in your transmission.

The crankshaft would not stop spinning. If it does, that’s stalling the motor.

If i had to guess its because making a car water-tight would make it heavier and therefore worse on the road where the majority of them would be used.
