As my kids would say, “Ooooooh....burrrrrn!!!” :)
It was so terrible BMW chose to use it in their 5 series. Not being sarcastic btw.
I know. Be fun to measure stuff in “Discovery lives” ... like my dog was 4 Discoveries and I think my cat will be 6 Discos ...
I’d put them on, one wheel at a time, pulled up to the beltline.
Roger that on the GM tranny...same basic tranny was also used in BMW Z3 if you can believe it (different ratios)...My 2000 Trooper was the tightest, most solid vehicle I have every had, bar none. Tight as a drum with no squeaks or rattles of any kind after 145K. Tranny did let go at 111K, but 10/120 warranty fixed it…
I believe these us GM automatic transmissions which aren’t that reliable or cheap to fix/replace. Friend of mine bought one of these at auction with a slipping transmission and that was the conclusion.
He should sell you the Jeepster Commando cheap for your annual drive to Moab after all you’ve done for him. Once he frees up the motor there won’t be as much of a challenge. “Project Go Commando” has a nice ring to it. Especially if you can’t get the heater to work in time for the drive.
After hearing its engine roar to life, my brother bought one of Ron’s old Saabs and started cleaning it this past weekend. Before and after:
Goddangit yes!
Beltlines that are way too high? I have a whole list of problems with high beltlines but to keep it succinct I’ll just say fuck high beltlines, and if you’re a designer who gave a car high beltlines (and you weren’t forced) then fuck you too
Behemoths with tiny asses like the BMW X6.
I think 1970s Mercedes set that precedent, and then nothing since has lived up to it.
I had one of these, and it was fun. Not fun in a fun sports car kinda way, more fun in a “I drive a Yugo ironically” kinda way.
I recently rented a previous generation 2015 Malibu. Yes they rent two year old cars at Hertz. It was hands down much better than a Altima.
I agree, I recently had an accident in my 370z (I actually really like that car) and I’ve had to drive a rental Altima for the last three weeks. Fuck Nissan for building this insipid turd of a car. The handling varies between ponderous and straight up dangerous. The transmission... Fuck this transmission. Completely…
Nissan finances pretty much anyone AND has huge rebates on their cars. They are the Chrysler/Dodge of Japan.
Agree, Nissan’s bad.
I would argue that Nissan is even worse.
Milktoast. But truth be told, I prefer to soft-shouldered tones of one Mr. Garrison Keillor.
