Oh man. Yeah I think a lot of oeoe think all troopers do is hand out tickets when in fact they are the first people on every awful accident. Oddly enough this fact was brought home to me by Stephen Kings “from a Buick 8". Really neat story about the lives of troopers with of course a super natural twist. Thank your

I’m pretty sure they always have to be in certain places at all times. If you watch a match there are several different ball boys/girls at standing in strategic points around the court. It’s really not a weird thing for tennis.

Ball kids have very specific places they are required to be, and they are expected to get there as quickly as possible. His job is to be in that spot during the changeover so that he can respond to anything she might need. There would have been another ball kid in the same position on McHale’s side.

It’s so beautiful and heartening to see someone reaching for a solution instead of spiraling in a lamentation.

A lot of the first responders to the Sandy Hook shooting have PTSD from what they saw.

Parade rest.... I didn’t even notice him and I know exactly how he stood. Thank you.

He’s a ball boy. It’s kinda what they do. They clear dead tennis balls and feed new ones to servers so you don’t want to be the one slowing down the pace of the game so yeah lots of speedy sprinting.

You’ve been excoriated, but you’re right. “Woman charged with fatally stabbing her four children” is the more appropriate headline for a feminist website. It tells you everything you need to know.

He’s a ball boy. His job is to hand her towels and give her tennis balls.

Ball kid.

HAHAHA!!! Please, somebody with more knowledge on tennis, educate me, sincere question here: what’s the deal with the guy who runs towards Serena, stops suddenly and stand in “Parade Rest” position? Is he security, or some kind of side-referree? What’s his purpose, penalize Serena for some rule-breaking? Prevent her

As other people have said, this is different than “Local Mom Runs Marathon,” which you would be right to be irritated by, I am.

My father is a retired police officer. The first time my mom ever saw my dad cry was 13 years into their marriage. He was the first officer on the scene of a murder-suicide; a father killed his 2yo daughter and then himself. My dad came home that day and she found him in their bedroom crying.

I don’t see how hormones run amuck from too much pregnancy/post-pregnancy could NOT be part of this story. It doesn’t help that even doctors have very little understanding of the role of pregnancy hormones in mental illness. PPD is relatively common. PP psychosis is not as uncommon as they lead us to believe. Hormones

Right. This is calling out the relationship of the perpetrator to the victims. Unlike if it’s just a car accident and the headline is “Mother Killed In Highway Crash”.

It’s hard. Really fucking hard. I had PPD with my oldest and there’s so much shame associated. Now I have two kids and its fucking draining and exhausting. All give, all the time. And confessing that you’re not enjoying it or that you desperately need help is often met with extreme judgement or trite comments like

What the fuck?

I feel like mentioning that she was the mother of the slain children is a pretty vital piece of information here

I feel like clarifying that it was the MOTHER as opposed to a STRANGER who killed the children takes it to a new level of awful and is absolutely pertinent to the story.

This is terrible. Those poor babies. And the father and 7 year old who got away? This is going to be just horrible for them.
