I don’t know about Swinton but, at her age famous people who are good-hearted are known for it, she isn’t, so I’m not giving her the benefit of the doubt. She’s an awesome actress, and that’s all she needs to be.

Eh, he lies about everything why not his supposed minimal need for sleep? He looks like he’s sleepwalking through everything.
Seriously? You asked, “How would you suggest Tilda gain knowledge on the subject?”
Freudian slip?
This whole topic is easily researchable without reaching out to anyone and especially without asking the person you call to keep the conversation personal.
Well, you seem to be completely unaware that Swinton could have any possible way to know about discrimination or whitewashing without seeking Cho’s input so I had to wonder if you were unaware that the parallels between life and culture in the US and GB make such cluelessness very unlikely.
Look, maybe I’m coming at this with the wrong assumption about what you think of Swinton and people in GB in general but if you’re wondering how she would know about racial discrimination and privilege before this movie, my question is more, how could she not.
This is basically how I see the situation. Often minorities get “othered” by people seeking reassurance for having done exactly what they wanted to do, and if it’s done in the right way, you only realize it after the fact.
*Gasp* Soooo good :D.
True and your spouse isn’t necessarily giving you any clues in order to try to spare you.
Seeing her spouse go through a breakdown while dealing with the aftermath of her robbery and having two young children at home must be very rough. We’re complaining about 2016 but she must be just as eager to see this crappy year come to an end.
I do think how we would feel or behave is relevant to what we’d do in the circumstances. Life is not always black and white.
So, if after having some time to think about it, she feels that Swinton was more interested in shutting her up as the movie came out or picking her brain for the right way to spin this than in having a meaningful conversation she should still keep her “promise” to Swinton?
I do think Cho was milking it ( for controversy? for laughs? because she’s rude? ), but yeah, I’ve often seen people on top approach those stirring trouble under the guise of discussing things when it it was really to disarm them. Perhaps the more time Cho had to think of it, the more it seemed that’s what happened…
Cho didn’t offer, Swinton asked her to and she agreed, which should make you think if you weren’t staning for her.
But I’m not saying they had to hire an Asian person under these circumstances, just that they can’t both hire someone white and then try to create some “sorta, kinda Asian but not Asian, wink, wink, because we all know the actress is actually white” character.
You had me going until you advised to look for cigarettes on the way to singing carols.
Same. I don’t want people getting bad habits.
That’s not using scare tactics: it’s the truth. I don’t even know why this isn’t always being brought up in every single bit of publicity the Democrats ever present.
Have you forgotten the fake tweets MJ kept making during the Presidential campaign? They were as funny and easy to fall for as yours was.
