No, it forced you from 1st to 4th gear, and wasn't only used on the Corvette. This was just to raise the EPA numbers and is easily eliminated with a tune or $5 resistor from Ebay. Also, it only forces you to skip to 4th if you are accelerating extremely slowly and keep the RPM low.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. The only point a turbo V6 will be more efficient is when the car is at a dead stop, only because the displacement is lower. DOD negates this advantage. Under boost, a turbo engine is usually less efficient because you generally need a richer fuel mixture with a turbo than with NA.

I think you're just being petulant. An engine description will give you a rough idea of the car's performance i.e. torque and bhp. Chassis numbers will differentiate between certain cars that are visually similar but mechanically different, like R50 and R53 for Minis.

In the scope of cages, chutes, transmissions and engines, it's just one more thing to modify. The aftermarket industry will solve that problem immediatley, and if you're building a serious drag car, you're not using the stock differential, and probably not the stock axle.
