Ths Super Tucano is literally that. But frankly an updated version of the A-1 Skyraider would probably be better suited to the CAS role than an “updated P-51".

It’s not just inflation. The most recent Block-whatever (50?) F-16s have a whole lot more recent avionics inside them.

I believe they call a stand-by/on-call pilot in the area. I don’t know the exact procedures, but I’ve had my flight delayed due to a pilot getting ill and us having to wait on the back-up/substitute to arrive.

It’s a sign of mental health issues, sadly. I guarantee you this guy isn’t taking his medication.
