I recorded it, and even had it push to an hour and a half late, and all it did was eat up half of my DVR space and I barely got to watch any of it. When I went to watch Family Guy, I saw the delayed NASCAR race was still on wiping out that show and was still only on the 26th lap of the first stage...at 9:00PM Eastern

$8K would be closer to really well running. These in perfect shape will go for more, but not much more. And this one needs a lot. And major minus points for extra gauges that aren’t even wired.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of the 4x4 SUVs have 20" rims and street tires on them...

1 forward facing, one rear facing and now 2 forward facing is easy peasy in the Alltrack...but 3 means uh oh spaghettios

Take the money, put it into the 110. Keep the 110. You will regret selling the 110.  As far as today’s suggestions, Merc wins by far

THAT is worth $9,500.  You could kill 4 people instead of just yourself in any accident

Anything for the commentariat

Finding someone willing to even be seen in that monstrosity as a passenger would be quite a feat

If I wanted to die in any even remotely dangerous road accident if something went awry, I’d take my $9,500 and just get a motorcycle as it has about as much practicality, is faster, and is probably a lot more fun to drive.

I’ve never driven a 500E but I have driven 300/320/420s of the vintage, and I do love and respect them, but the difference better be batshit awesome for that premium of the 500 badge. In the case of the D3 S8, I think it is a much bigger differentiator than the equivalent 4.2/pedestrian’ big sedan of the generation.

Anyone wanting interesting reading can go look at the saga of the apparent curbstoner selling this car that got eviscerated on both the BAT auction here https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-mercedes-benz-500e-44/

Here is the specific link https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-mercedes-benz-500e-44/ for this car but you’re right it no-sold at $18,750 not long ago there.

Never had the pleasure of driving an e28 M5 but they seem very cool old school driving machine BMW...at least you have the experience of the memories, and you didn’t blow the motor on your watch [the guy I sold my M5 to ended up grenading the motor being a dumbass, and I’ve felt bad about it ever since, not for the

I agree with you on the Q-ship thing. However, in this particular case, I can’t square why a Porsche engineered motor and a few tidbits add up to a 4-5x premium on a much-too-similar E420 of the same vintage. I also love the Phaeton and was very close to getting one when I chose the D3 S8 with the V10 instead [another

Agree I’d pick up a nice minty 420E that has had the wiring harness done from the south in a more fun color [that Dark green on mint green would be high on the list]

I haven’t checked the market in quite some time. I bought mine with 55K on the clock [it needed a respray] for $11K back in 2006 and sold it for $17K with about 85K in 2010. Since there is no way I’ll have the ability for a fun RWD car for quite some time I try to stay far away from the dreamy stuff

I really like these cars. The problem for me is that you need to be almost a detective to tell the difference between this and the contemporary E300/320 or E400. With this yawn inducing color combo and the 150K on the clock, it’s too much loot in my opinion.

Rear doors might be Expedition?  Funky and fugly for sure but this is a cool article--nice find

Pray tell, how many children do you have?

1993 Honda Accord.  I love these and want one badly with a stick
