Air coolers, especially pre-obd ones, are worlds simpler than a mid engined wasserboxer, but you’re not wrong.  Having dailied a 993 and 996, both were dead nuts reliable the entire time I owned them, and my 88 3.2 was dead nuts reliable as well but was only an occasional car.

The stupidity of anyone to buy a vehicle that big with 4 seats alone is dumb enough. That this asshat decided to slap a turbo in and paint the trim neon purple and put black dubs on it makes me think he’s ready to put on his purple suit and wreak havoc on Los Santos. I cannot imagine another possible use for this

100% agree 550 Maranello is one of if not my favorite F car. It’s a pity that whatever crayons Ferrari used for the interior are all melting though. Most pictures I see of them have delaminating airbag covers, fuzzy switchgear from rubber peeling off, etc.

I was thinking the same thing...looking at the engine bay and seeing SIX carburetors...nope

Those wheels are the best wheels a Toyota has ever worn.

The V8s are more like $60K but you’re not at all wrong

Very true--it’s liberating to just drive a car and not worry about it all the time.  My 993 and 996 were both dailies and neither ever got so much as a single scratch.  Of course, the value is nowhere near a supercar for either of these, but still.

Herb likes to stuff all profits directly into his anus-hole, thus spending monies to make for more interesting reading is not high on his to do list. Unless it involves ads or clicks, Herb is out

Hear, Hear.  I have not missed a daily NPOND all year.  Thanks for all the work, Rob!  Always an entertaining read both in column and in the comments.

“Runs and Drives great!”

Glad to see the seller took the time to point out that a 2001 Audi “takes unleaded”

The moon seems like a good place to send this piece of shit Durango as well.  This can be their moon rover

Speaking of oblivion, can the 54 anarchists who voted NP please line up so that we can stuff you all into a rocket to be shot directly into the sun?

How long has yours been burning oil at the ~250mi/qt rate? This makes it even more of an NP if they can just keep putting along adding oil at every fillup. Like a cosplay 2 stroke Plymouth and you never have to change the oil!

I mean the loaf looks like it’s been around long enough to dodge the 25 year rule, and the 2020 model probably hasn’t changed much since 1995 [or maybe 1964 or whenever they started making them].

These things were almost depressing when new...though the Stratus could be gussied up to look somewhat interesting with the cooler wheels. $700 and it runs now it’s an automatic NP despite the fact it was a penalty box even when being unloaded from the hauler at the dealership with its window sticker affixed.

What’s the story behind that? I know GM rebadged the Vitara and probably a few other cars for some years in the 90s/2000s but that’s the extent of my knowledge.  Do you have details on the GM fuckery?  Is that why Suzuki ended up exiting the US market?

e46/e39/e38? I too like minimalist interiors when it comes to tech, but you have to have a screen for the backup camera so those days are permanently over

I agree that Suzuki probably isn’t going to come back but it has more to do with cost and building a dealer network. The way I’d imagine it is possible is if someone [cough cough Nissan] does a rebadge of some product and sells through its own network

Hell yes
