Indeed  I had an ‘84 coupe with the M10 but the ancient 3sp slush box.  I wanted badly to swap the trans and tinker with the motor but ultimately I parted with it   

‘82-’86. Then the M40 arrived for 1987 IIRC.

Maybe they consolidated the press release for the new “vehicle” with the news of the atrocious and tacky backlit grille so everyone could consolidate their vitriol into one post.

I respectfully disagree. 90s *American* car styling was pretty bad but Japanese cars? World-class IMO. Look at that Fox body below - sure, the exterior makes a statement but the interior is like anything from Ford - a total penalty box.
