Easy on the hyperbole. Will this ONE engine REALLY replace ALL diesels? Will such a motor with such a (relatively) complex piston really work for the freight hauling fleet vehicles of the work? Does Nissan have a big standing in this market? If not why would this ONE engine win over this market?

I’m baffled that there is not a central, unifying strategy for all potential automakers around recharging stations. It’s in their common interest to collaborate. Can you imagine if gas stations were brand-specific, with proprietary interfaces for refueling?

Yes and it’s $21K and change after tax credits. But according to VW.com, it only gets “up to 83 miles per charge”, and it’s only available from select dealers in CA, CT, DC, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NY, OR, RI, and VT. This is not a viable mass-market e-car.
