Toad’s Turnpike! I loved taking risky paths between cars so I wouldn’t lose any momentum.

I was a little disappointed when I realized that Mario Kart 8 has Rainbow Road 64, but it split a single lap into three segments, rather than making you navigate that enormous track three times. They must have realized that someone always manages to find an insurmountable lead on the rest of the racers, meaning

So I can’t decide which track is my favorite for aesthetics, music, or how fun it is to drive, but I know which one has my favorite secret! In Mario Kart 64's Royal Raceway, you could find an unpaved path off the side of the track. If you abandoned racing altogether to explore this area, you could could drive right up

Last time I saw Stakkalee was probably over a year ago in a Mary Sue comments section. I’m sure they’re still out there somewhere...

Seconding the recommendation for Sleeping Dogs!

Thanks for the nod! As you folks may have noticed, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how the best games teach you to play them through the act of playing them. It’s interesting that the same idea came up in the Sonic Mania article and the Madden article, as it’s definitely not something that most games get right.

Death Stranding is definitely a day-one purchase for me, and that’s before I’ve had a chance to read the essay linked above. As for the struggle to create an anti-war video game in the Metal Gear series, I can kind of see what he means.

I’m fortunate to have built-in Bluetooth capability on all my devices, so finding out about the new functionality installed under my nose felt like a free gift!

That whole Borealis setpiece sounds like it would have been incredible to play through. I also appreciated the part where he basically admits that the segment in the blizzard was never fleshed out enough to describe what was intended to happen. The part that seems to missing, though, is what new gameplay element

The way Gerardi was talking the other day, he’s got the freedom to expand on the individuality of Gameological while still doing everything he can to keep the community intact and thriving. I’ve got high hopes, and the number of people that have made the jump (with mixed difficulty) are only making me feel better

Well that’s an odd way to welcome a long-standing community to the verticals next door. Thanks for stopping by, though. Maybe next time tell us what games you’re into these days?

You can pair it to a PC via Bluetooth now too! That’s how I’ve been playing Tacoma recently, and it’s working pretty well!

In Chase the UFO, I’m pretty sure they did some weird things with the way your momentum is preserved while turning, as opposed to jumping and turning. I found myself trying to play it like Mario Kart and getting slammed into the walls all the time. I did eventually figure out how you’re supposed to play those

I’m really surprised just how many people ran into huge difficulty with claiming their accounts. It was basically seamless for me. I saw before I started that they can’t transfer a Disqus account to a Kinja burner account, so I abandoned the burner I created a couple weeks ago, in favor of a new one. From there, I

Good morning folks! It looks like a lot of you made the trip unscathed! Though, the comment count isn’t quite so high as it usually is this long after WAYPTW goes up, so I hope people are still finding their way home.

That’s pretty rough stuff. Kinjamprove automatically opens the greys, so I and several other regulars won’t miss you. I’ll be interested to see what kind of volume we get at the new site.

What are you doing down in the greys, m? Did you hear about the Kinjamprove Chrome extension? It makes it way easier to read these long threads without clicking “show more comments” all the dang time, and it might help with your failed loading.

Yeah, that’s all stuff that requires both a deep knowledge of the sport, and at least some sense of where the talents of your individual players lie. When I was playing the game as the 2011 Packers (the one team where I did know who was good at what), I still couldn’t necessarily tell you from the play selection

Don’t forget the traumatic brain injury that roughly 100% of players experience at the highest levels of play. That affects even the decent folks that never make headlines about misconduct, the folks that don’t get paid nearly as much, and even college players who are not allowed to make a dime from their work.

I see what you’re saying. Rules like:
