I hope you'll keep on with the curating of curious and scan-worthy scoops, even with the sun-setting of the scoring system. You have a knack for picking out exactly the types of topics that engage my eyes!

Thanks, Brakeman! You're awfully kind.
Yeah! I'm pretty excited about this one! I only played a handful of 2016 games, but even then it's going to be tough to pick one to write about because they were all so great!
As far as I'm concerned, SRL is only for Fashion Souls. Speaking of which, I can't wait until I get far enough in DSII that I can start playing Fashion Souls again! This whole wander armor/leather armor/turtle armor mishmash just isn't doing it for me.
Boy am I glad for that. It's fortunate that they did something so obvious as requesting a list of names, because it could have been terrible if they had found a way to root out the reality-believers without the department's help.
Yeah, the Sparrow Racing League is pretty much garbage, but I still wear my Titan Mark from the first season because it's so glowy and rare!
Hey folks! Exciting news! @DL and I put together an unofficial Gameological Discord server! Don't know what that is? It's a voice/text chat service made specifically to blend well with online gaming, and you're invited!
Whoops! Time for a shameless double post!

I feel like this is a big reason why games like Papers, Please and Gone Home resonated so strongly with their audiences. The only gameplay available to you in these games is exactly what the protagonist would be able or want to do in the same situation, such that you find yourself almost unwittingly identifying with…
I loved that leveling mechanic too! You don't get any better at forging daggers by burning skeletons to re-death with magic fireballs! You do it by forging a fuck-ton of daggers! My only complaint was that there was a level cap on each skill, and you could get there pretty quickly with diligent play. I would have…
I totally agree with your assessment of the story weaknesses in VIII. The interpersonal exchanges between team members always felt so forced. Everyone is climbing the walls in their lust for Squall! But they all knew each other as children from the same orphanage, so it's kind of like wanting to sex your siblings!
Exactly what I was going for!
Yeah, it's not so much an insult as it is an accurate description of a chosen pursuit. It should only feel like an insult if you realize that the thing you're defending is in fact indefensible (e.g. rape apologists, cult apologists, etc.). And if you are feeling insulted by such a description, maybe think about why…
I'm incapable of a complete list, as I haven't played most of them, so here's what I gots for yous:
Use this form, but without spaces inside the brackets:
< spoiler > before the hidden text and
< /spoiler > after the hidden text and it becomes this.
I'd be really interested to see how such a ruling would play out in a class action. Are they going after the developer or the publisher?
Oh yeah! Those are both real brain benders! It's interesting that those are the two that are both giving you trouble. As I'm sure you've realized, they're both about finding the right perspective to solve the puzzle. It took me a long time to come up with the right conditions to solve the top of the mountain, but…
Doing the opposite seems to working out fine for me. Accepting garbage behavior as "just the way things are" is no way to build an inclusive community.
Have you gotten into the cave yet? The game doesn't really give you any hints about why the island exists until you get there, but I don't want to spoil anything if you're still working through the surface of the island.
