While it's unfortunate to hear that the characters don't really pop, I am really excited to get Star Wars as a template to explore different film genres. And with all of the talk of reshoots it seems they kept that dark ending in place. Also it does visually stun.

I just want to voice my love for The Right Stuff here.

I am just so happy we are getting a modern Hollywood movie with a vibrant color palette. I love the 50's technicolor look, and I wish more films had the guts to spruce up the world a bit. I don't think anything has popped in that way since Mad Max: Fury Road.

Still no new Magazine Update!

Technically it's the school's Republican Party that is hosting him, but It's still awful.

No Magazine Update tonight as I am swallowed by final assignments for classes.

Moonlight was top picks for me, but I also had a wonderful experience watching The Nice Guys.

Ass Hat supreme Milo You-are-a-fuckstick is speaking at my university next month. Probably gonna complain about safe spaces before whining that people aren't nice enough to white people.

Yay! During my Birthday. The perfect time to be depressed.

Oh which one: AI, Catch Me If You Can, perhaps Munich, or the masterpiece War Horse.

Pretty depressing. Worked for hours of final projects, with the only respite being a trip to the hospital to help my dad figure out his neurological and psychological issues. It looks like he will mostly be in a slow decline, I hope we can make it as easy as possible for him.

No they quite enjoyed the film. It was just that the two had descended so far into the madness of the rest of his work that the prospect of a quality film nearly broke them.

The Visit episode might be the funniest two hours of the year.

I know that Trump could flip it just as easily, but that this small progress was made blew my mind at this late stage.

Watching a Touch of Zen during the hottest day of the summer was such a wonderful experience. Disappearing into a three hour action epic was the best way to beat the heat.

The best podcast discovery for me this year was Blank Check. So much of our popular culture exists in a world without context, we can just grab things out of the void. I love how this show puts so many films in a historical place. Hearing the thrill of seeing the Matrix for the first time, or the decline of a brand

I honestly thought that the news was a joke when I first read it on social media. That is how bad this year has been.

Magazine Update!

What a peppy, fun trailer.
