I am, too. Babies and Elders are the center of everything in Native communities, so I imagine everyone in their band is hurting :(

Will be burning some sage for this woman and her babe and her community today. So tragic.

Those kids need some Jamie Oliver treatment, stat.

Some sort of new backpack, as the one I got for a big girlguide camp in 2003 just died on me in August. Will probably drop 200-300 on it.

As long as you go through the manager, you should be okay. Pizza is always appreciated, as is coffee. If you're feeling uber generous, McDoubles are the shit.

SALMON! STUFFED SQUASH! MMMM!

Love this <3 Sent it to my rad brown dad and we got weepy and hugged.

The woman knows her fanbase!

Juicebox! Popcan! Ah, memories..

Sadly not!

I have and love this:

Yep, also talks about being a slave master.

What are your feelings on white female rappers like Iggy Azalea and Kreayshawn, and specifically their use of the n word? Do they have a place in the pantheon of hiphop? Are they co-opting something that has traditionally been a voice for POC?

They exist for the 1/1000 case where the fetus has a condition that would result in them being born dead, like anacephaly. Anti-choicers are convinced slutty mcslutwhores get 'em for fun, mind.

Are we the same person?

I think it's a Pacific Northwest thing, but people can be pretty dismissive of conventional medicine and I get super knee-jerky when people suggest yoga/meditation/rolfing/lentils as a solution for anxiety.

Reducing caffeine and things that make me refluxy has made a big difference, I didn't actually know that GERD and panic attacks are linked.

Speaking as someone who HAS severe anxiety, medication is the gold standard. Daily controllers like cipralex buy you time to learn/use other coping techniques, and ativan is a godsend on bad days. People who suggest meditating like it's the cure for everything piss me off.

If I hear one more sanctimonious so-and-so suggest meditation, ima cut a bitch. Anxiety is an *illness* that requires medication. Meditation is a good lifestyle change, but it should not be your first line of defense.
