That whole routine with the cake is so damn great.
Another favourite is that kid who, if I remember correctly, knocks out Mario when getting him to play with his toys.
Actually caring about the bit characters makes so much difference, it makes the game much more memorable.

The answer to your last speculation is that the Valve offices contain a warp in spacetime where the number 3 does not exist. So no employee, new or otherwise, can ask awkward questions about it.

Oooh, nice selection of articles! I've missed like a month of RPS, so I have way too many articles to catch up on.
By the way, I just wanna mention to you I'm a she not a he as you said up there :)

I knew it, mentioning the Marx Brothers is the secret to success!
That Paper Mario discussion actually made me wanna get the game, even despite the issues Zack brought up. I was reminded how great the writing is - not serious, deep writing, but full of character and funny. I need a game like that in my life right now.

Yeah, it is a great puzzle game. I would play it more often, but I feel like I have to focus entirely on it rather than also listening to podcasts or something. And focusing entirely on it really creeps me out, due to the empty landscape and "glitchy" effects I guess?

And it originated the Airship Fortress course, which is my favourite track in all Mario Kart. I'd really like it if they put that course in one of the console ones rather than just keeping it to the handhelds.

This week was more varied than most for me. In The Talos Principle I reached the bonus puzzles for getting all the World 1 stars. They look pretty fun, I already discovered a neat trick they've done to subvert the usual puzzle chamber rules. Looking forward to digging in to those.
There was (maybe still is?) a

Nah, that was the original Gold and Silver. I do wonder how my Crystal cart is getting along actually. The battery's supposed to last longer, but probably not over a decade long…

I think he means gameplay depth, not story depth or anything like that.

I very much agree with this, and it goes back to the original Mario RPG as well. I caught up with it again recently thanks to a speedrun, and despite the obvious rushing past the text and plot, I still laughed once again at the jokes. The version of Mario in RPG might be my favourite. He's silent and hero-y as always,

Been working towards 100% completion in The Talos Principle. Just unlocked the 1st world's extra level.
Also, I caved to my nostalgia and bought a used copy of Pokemon Heart Gold for a third as much again of its original retail price. I should have bought the one I saw selling at retail price about a year ago, but I

Sling and Arrows Dvd when??

Pretty sure I read the Radio Times cover to cover at that time and I didn't even remember this existed!

I mean considering I got all these for about the price of a "full price" new release, it's gotta be good value even if I don't like all of them.

I might have been a bit lost for that Let's Playlist, but I really enjoyed the discussion that sparked from the Cing article. As usual I had quite a few things to note down after the discussion started my imagination rolling :)
Game music this week (well aside from the Castlevania playlist which I'll be catching up

Update: Got the star! Thanks for your nudges in the right direction, Duwease! A pretty crafty one, but I don't think a walkthrough is totally required. The biggest leap is to connect the QR code and buttons. The start and end were pretty straightforward actually. Though I think my experience lurking on ARG forums

Ooh okay! I just realized after I posted that I had not in fact looked at the columns at all, and they probably had things you could do with them. I think those hints should be enough to go off, thanks! :)

Oh damn, didn't realize there was a max of one! I'd best keep searching for some decent cats. I was going to go for the apparently standard(?) fighter cat people think is best, which just throws Large Piercing boomerangs. But I'm starting to feel like I might want a bit more variety in my cat instead.

Aha! I actually already translated the QR code and found what it referred to, so I guess I did step one already. But step two I was kind of struggling with - I rubbed my roboface all over the walls in the general direction of the time, but I may have got the time wrong and need to retranslate. Honestly I was kinda

I've liked the adventure games I've played so far (all modern ones), so I'm looking forward to having a go at the classics!
The STALKER games could very well be ones that are much more exciting and enjoyable to read about than play. But I'd at least like to have a go.
