I wouldn't call Zelda an RPG… more of an Action-Adventure game. What qualities does it have that you'd find in an RPG?
Not that your sister shouldn't play Zelda games though!
I guess the simplest RPG I can think of would be Pokemon, but maybe that's just cause I've grown up with it and know what's going on.

Deadly Premonition wasn't Suda51 though… he did Killer7, No More Heroes, etc. Deadly Premonition is Swery.
Anyway, there are plenty of auteurs, many of them in the West as well as Japan.

Who was that talk show host supposed to be? Obviously I had no idea, but that segment was still pretty funny anyway. Note also the pope appearing to give thanks to god as his interviewer is zapped away.

Yep, I particularly noticed a shot near the start focusing on a guy's walkie-talkie, possibly they put special attention on that because of the whole "editing guns to walkie-talkies" thing that happened with E.T.

I think The Crawling Eye may have been one of the few MST3Ks I've seen, but I don't remember it very well. Though the "It's coming toward us! We're trapped!" bit did seem a bit familiar.
I think one of the scientists was just in his undies? Or were they shorts? Either way, a poor choice for a Swiss mountain.

Yep, that scene with the Lobe doing Christmas shopping was pretty great! I liked all the random ornaments and other tat in that store.
Also liked that Arms Akimbo somehow makes things explode with the power of his elbows. This show has some pretty great villains.

I hadn't even heard of those films (well, apart from Tron). Were they live-action, do you know?

Ahh, it's the Lobe, my favourite villain! He continues to be great by faking out popping a child's balloon. Maybe making balloon animals is his day job?

Ah, you got it sorted! That's good!

Hey Jay S., I know about Jeopardy only through these recaps… can you tell me what happens if it's possible for someone to "win" with a negative amount? And given how awful the game would have to be if that happened, what terrible punishment would be enacted upon them?

What about the bit with the solarized landscapes near the end though? That bit was interminable!
As for the rest of the movie, I enjoyed it but I didn't have any particular response… it didn't grab me. There's no way that it would become one of my favourite movies or anything. But, maybe that's simply due to the whole

Well, since I ended up watching The Chip Part 1 pretty early, I decided to do some very silly research: Would Dexter's brain really be overloaded if he absorbed the entire 1995 internet?
And what did I find out? I found out that finding the figures for the size of the internet in 1995 is way more difficult than I was

Particularly like the bit where he grabs the camera and then… doesn't.
Actually, there were a couple of things like that - obviously the AI cannot quite come up with anything coherent, but the way it randomly smashes words into each other can come up with some great ideas which a human writer would never think of. It

To add to the articles, here's a nice fun thing for any Earthbound fans:

Featuring ugly/cute "realistic" Mr Saturn and peoples' reactions to it, some very very lovely looking offices, and Mr Shigesato Itoi himself. I was super jealous that they got an office tour and got to meet Itoi!

Eh, I dunno. I don't really know much about popular Youtubers that play it or anything. And for me, I don't know about "missing the moment" - I started playing because I like exploring in games, and what better to explore than an infinitely generated landscape?

Argh, I've not played much at all this week! I did play some things at the event that I was at last weekend. But since they were being played all the time, I'm not sure of their names. I think the ones I played were called Chalo Chalo (a simple party game where you race top-down across a randomly generated playing

The His Dark Materials books adapted into either animated movies or miniseries. 2D animation, but not Ghibli or Disney style, more stylized, like a moving woodblock print or something. If anyone has read the two short books written afterwards, like the illustrations in that.
And to test the idea, a short animated movie

Well there's a game called Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure which, well, it's a musical game. Not completely sung-through, more like some of the cutscenes are songs I think. Not certain of its quality or availability though…

Eh, I don't mind, it's not like there's any continuity between episodes particularly! I'll try and find the Dvd order if that's listed anywhere.
