Wait, I watched a different episode 6 to this… Imdb has what you describe listed as episode 10. :/
Episode 6 should be "The Chip, Part 1"

Yep, both Lord Bravery segments have been solid. Listening to the segment after you mentioned John Cleese, it does seem like Lord Bravery may be based on him to some extent, or at least the kind of character he plays in things like the Dead Parrot sketch or Fawlty Towers - not that I am an expert im either of those

Finished two short books, Sum: Tales from the Afterlives by David Eagleman and The Diary of a Nobody.

You would think Freakazoid might be a bit more considerate, what with his alter-ego being quite nerdy himself. Though the intense pushiness of Fanboy would probably annoy anyone.
Mark Hamill was as himself. Was he voicing The Joker at that point? So I guess he wouldn't mind dropping by to cameo for another show.

Liked the Lord Bravery bit a lot! That fit more with my sense of humour than the rest of the episode, which didn't work too well for me.
I would say the Mo-Ron segments were a stupid joke which didn't get better with repetition. I guess the hand-kissing from one of the previous episodes escalated the stupid joke enough

The "F-Troop style cut" is referred to as a "Gilligan Cut" on TVtropes, I believe. I suppose similar cuts were used on Gilligan's Island or something.

Is it bad that I was thinking that roughly half the lines this episode would make a good The AV Club joke? That's probably bad.
Anyway, first impressions, I knew this show had a lot of crazy mile-a-minute talking, but I was still a bit overwhelmed. For me, with my lacking knowledge of the references of the time, I'd

Hello to Jason Isaacs!

Nice writeup! I like those "Order of the Corn" song lyrics. Always a fan of some overblown song in praise of something very mundane.
I guess "Reality Takes a Holiday" has a different approach to the whole "this is a show/this is real" thing to "A World of Difference" - for a continuing (well, not continuing for very

What an excellent opportunity to bring up The Tale of Princess Kaguya for the third time. If you ask questions where I can't give that answer, I won't know what to do with myself!
Seriously though, it's an excellent movie. There's a reason I've mentioned it thrice. I think it may be my favourite of all the Ghibli

Well currently I am at a games event called Feral Vector. It's fun, but most people seem to know each other already or something, so I am as usual fairly intimidated to talk to people… Oh well, fun games and a lovely location, I can enjoy myself on my own, right??

Columbo reviews? Nice, I'm glad you posted that here, even if it's not the most relevant thing to games!

As a Brit, those first two paragraphs totally lost me. What's this about sandwiches, and how does it relate to this game? Who are those people you're mentioning?
(Also, that's "throw off the yoke", not "yolk". Though I'd be interested to see what metaphor would use "yolk". Maybe something about America hatching from

Oh, you watched Slings and Arrows, that's awesome! I like to think that TVdW's latching onto shows constantly hoping for greatness is because nothing could live up to Slings and Arrows. Personally, after watching the show, I became a lot more interested in Shakespeare's plays… did you feel the same way at all?
Anyway

"I have a complicated love for games that tends to involve a lot more reading than playing" - wow, are you me? :)

I usually am pretty okay with the AV Club's
"hey check out this neat meme we saw"
but for some reason this makes me want to defenestrate something

Maybe he thinks everyone writes it as "Mock-U-Mentary"?

My favourite/least favourite mimic is a pretty silly one: Sudowoodo from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. It looks nothing like a tree whatsoever. It dances, which is quite unlike a tree. It hates water, so it's a good job it never rains in the second generation games. And it's blocking the only route between the three

Yeah, I've been replaying it recently(-ish… I should get back to it soon), and I found that things mostly started to pick up after the Gale Shrine (I think that's the first boss of the next arc). And things really got going at about halfway through the second part.
I think the problem is mostly the dungeons - on

Does he offer an alternative name?
