I think you missed their point. Rather than having original MK characters return, those allotted slots were taken by the guest characters. So we had less returning MK characters overall because of it.

I second this and it’s how I’ve been doing the quest so far. I’m going to be “that guy” though and say the catalyst isn’t what gives Crimson the three round burst, that’s part of its intrinsic perk. The catalyst gives you dramatically increased range over the standard stat.
