That'd be misleading, if you think about it, the end performance is the same... Which is not the case, the ipad3 is obviously slightly faster in some areas, but not even 2x.

I think the consensus WAS that it was just a big ole iPod touch?... It was also a relatively inexpensive device compared to the average laptop produced by manufacturers. Yes it was a new category so people were interested.
