This is the kind of thing that a cynic like me would normally scoff at but I physically can’t.

I used to work in a restaurant and working on Christmas always made me really sad because I wanted to be with my family, but we were not allowed to request holidays off so I was usually stuck waiting tables all day instead of spending time with my loved ones. The people who left excellent tips (one man in particular

For those who “don’t tip on principle,” might I suggest not going out to eat? Yes, you might not like the system, but by going to a restaurant you are participating in it, so you are expected to observe the customs.

Agreed. Plus some fast food places actually forbid their employees from receiving tips and penalize them for accepting them (Source: I worked at Dairy Queen). It’s shitty, but accepting that extra dollar at some fast food restaurants can cost you your job.

Ahhhh not Britney ): I used to work at a nice restaurant in a wealthy resort community and served several celebrities, all of whom were good tippers (even the ones with bad reputations). I think they’re starting to get wise to being shamed for this.

Same. It’s so easy to leave a good tip at a fast casual place. I just paid $5 for a smoothie this morning and left $1 as a tip. That 20% tip isn’t really cutting into my own monthly budget, and it’s a nice thing to do, so why not?

It’s been a few years since I worked as a server, but from what I remember, there are definitely ways to type a message to the kitchen without having it print out with the check. I think that’s how all modifications work with Aloha and Micros (the two popular POS systems for restaurants). I realize this is kind of a

Yeah, the moment I see “so-and-so talked to Piers Morgan” I go ahead and disregard everything that happened.

Proof that a woman really can have it all.

I still want to talk about pogs!

As someone who is currently planning a wedding, the family drama that I’ve been dealing with feels very, very light compared to what Meghan’s family put her through.

Is this the same guy who was “casually photographed” reading a picture book about Great Britain before the wedding? What a disaster.

Reading this (I couldn’t find it in me to watch the video) made me deeply uncomfortable and panicky and sad. When I was 20 I tried to kill myself and landed in the hospital. Upon arrival, I was handcuffed to a chair and endured similar treatment. That was 10 years ago, but the shame stays with me to this day. It’s

Yikes to a white woman telling a black man what to do for his community.

You hit the nail on the head with “thinks she represents progressive people.” Now how do we go about telling her that she is mistaken?

Definitely. Just don’t expect there to be a protagonist.

I haven’t seen the most recent season so maybe that’s why I still don’t really like her. But hey, if James Kennedy can redeem himself (the way he gleefully described loving ice cream instead of going out drinking kind of stole my heart) anything is possible.

Everyone is such a monster on that show that I finally stopped looking for a decent human being amongst them and decided to root for the biggest mess of them all. Also as someone who has been the stereotypical crazy ex girlfriend before, I feel a kinship with Doute. Plus she was totally right about Tom Sandoval

I recently binge watched seasons one through five of this show and I can’t figure out how I feel about Lala Kent. Sometimes I can’t stand her (like when she talks in a cringeworthy gangsta rap voice. Girl, you are from UTAH.) and other times I think she’s glorious (that scene where she made the “summer bodies” comment

I watched the whole music video ):
