I propose a simple rule. Anytime you have layoffs, C-Suite forfeits all performance bonuses, including stock, for 5 years. Mid-management for 3 years.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek blamed the layoffs on slowing economic growth and how “capital has become more expensive.” More succinctly, he claims the company hired a lot more staff during the early pandemic years to take advantage of “lower-cost capital.” The Spotify CEO said on Monday the company now has to reduce costs.

begin lean is.....a necessity! a necessity to maximize returns to our investors and shareholders.

Actually not bs at all.  I have contacts from over a decade ago I have wanted/needed to contact and that's how I have been able to reach them.  It's been quite awhile sure but I get 0 notifications.  On the off chance I go on I just grab what I need and quickly log out.

On Monday, Gizmodo sister site Deadspin uploaded an article accusing a child of wearing blackface to a Kansas City Chiefs game, a claim that was quickly debunked. Today the site updated the article, but still failed to correct the erroneous claim.

To me this suggests that G/O Media websites not only publish false

Ah. I think you meant if they could have gotten Iman Vellani on to the talk show circuit. I agree with that.

Yeah. Now. I think it can be hard to think back to a time pre-2008 and just what a gamble Iron Man was for Marvel - a B-tier character with an actor who had been best known over the previous few years for felonies rather than films. Hulk is the only one of those four characters who would have had much in the way of

The Marvels was, I think, poorly Marketed.

Except...The Marvels is good. Critics have been generally positive and audiences seem to like it, so it seems like if it’s not doing as well commercially there might be problems outside of the movie itself. If you want to pick on a movie, Ant-Man 3 was not good. Perhaps that movie left a bad enough taste in audiences’

So he was the one in charge during basically its entire marketing period and during the SAG-AFTRA strike, both of which have been largely blamed for the movie’s under-performance at the box office.

There’s nothing wrong with The Marvels other than people are tired of the MCU. When it was one movie a year or every other year? People were all about that. When you have to watch two movies a year plus 3 different TV shows to keep current, people tuned out. Especially because they’re moving onto smaller and lesser

So we have comments from unnamed individuals that we have no evidence are Disney brass, and a comment from Disney brass that doesn’t implicate the director at all? Seems like a big nothingburger to me.

“We gotta blame someone, and it sure as shit ain’t gonna be me”

Totally Killer was really fantastic, Kiernan Shipka was great & it made great use of the 80s setting once she time traveled back & the comedy inherent in a modern teen bewildered & infuriated by 80s culture

Horror has been starring young female protagonist forever. There is reason the “Final Girl” is a well worn trope. And its not necessarily for a progressive/feminist reason either: women are often seen as weaker, so it’s scarier when they are put in jeopardy.

No, these are just Prime originals, many of which are probably not very popular. There are still loads of male actors leading entire franchises. Not only that, the proliferation of international media has made it easier to choose various nationalities too. Your entire statement just reeks of “male replacement”

Also there’s the minor fact that if someone is looking for “good male role models” in movies for their unborn children, they’re already parenting wrong.

I think it’s a colloquialism, but the idea is that Japan, immediately post-WWII, is so broken and unmoored from its own historical trajectory that as a society it’s at a terrible disadvantage to deal with any more tragedy. IOW, they’re not starting from zero, but from -1.

I might be wrong but - defeat in WW2 set Japan back to zero. Now along comes Godzilla and he’s taking them below zero, to minus one.

Quit being anti-semitic Israel doesn’t represent all jews so defending Palestinians against their genocide isn’t Nazi behavior in fact it’s Israel that is acting like the Nazi’s.
