It’s easier to do when you have a smaller, more homogeneous population.
Hats off to those guys and gals. Looks like one hell of a job to do, especially at night.
Damnit, now I want to go watch Iron Eagle.
Somebody needs to step up their fake tank game.
We can’t buy more B-1's for the same reason we can’t buy more F-22's, A-10's etc. They are no longer in production, the cost of setting up assembly lines for these planes again and re-tooling (the A-10 and B-1 in particular had their tooling destroyed, the F-22's are mothballed) would cost as much and take as long as…
I mean...you saw a stealth, supersonic strike fighter come to a complete stop and hover. That's pretty fucking impressive.
Can’t buy f-22's and F-35's... you can either buy 1,000 F-35's and finish it’s cognitive A.I.(artificial intelligence) programming or buy 200 or so F-22's and finish that A.I. for it instead..you can’t do both, the USAF can’t afford the tankers, nukes, LSRB, A-10 & all the upgrades already... and it still MUST keep…
Right. It’s the friends that are to blame, not the idiot wearing shorts and a tank top in January in Wisconsin while binge drinking.
Air Force brass love proof of concept stuff. You can train for decades for 35+ hour duration missions but actually planning and executing an operation that shows the training is valid sure looks good as a bullet point on the resume when you’re up for a star.
I can kind of see the point of flying the B-52s with the super-secret new missiles over there from the US. But why make the poor crews fly all the way BACK again? Surely they could have landed somewhere a heck of a lot closer once they shot off the missiles. What am I missing here?
Also General Schwarzkopf didn’t exactly have a favorable opinion of SpecOps before the war.
Helicopters don’t fly, they beat the air into submission.
Great mission write-up. It’s fascinating how much our abilities and tactics have changed since 1991. I hope you write about the B-52 mission from Barksdale to Iraq and back again. There was a public forum about it yesterday in Shreveport, and it was the first time the crews could freely discuss the details with…
There still was plenty of that. Kinda hard to pace count in a helo though.
Well they won’t need those condoms when they meet their 72 Virgins so they’re not being wasted otherwise.
Conservatives are gonna have a field day. Planned Parenthood now directly linked to terrorism.
