Thats why F22 will escort F35 in very high threat environments, 1st strike. In a 1st Strike someone has to tote JDAMs to the target, thats why we need F35, and thousands of them imagine an all attacking stealth force, good luck...We cant depend on a handful of B2’s to do all this work...we have to quickly knock down…
how far can that detect? F35’s radar was assured to detect beyond the range of IR.

ITS NOT STEALTHY...F35 will eat it for lunch in a real world scenario, destroyed not knowing they were getting attacked. F16 is more maneuverable than the F22 and F15...maneuverability is not what it was designed for, stealth first.
You cant make a maneuverable stealth fighter vs a 4th gen air frame...stealth requires all the fuel and weapons to be stores inside making the fighter thicker and wider...less maneuverable. F35 will shoot down any 4th gen aircraft in a real world setting. It will be escorted by F22s and will have AIM20s as well. Maybe…

Say helllllow to my little friend! Great spot for this, 8 “rockets” on each side, I wonder if they can launch 4 at the same time at different targets? This should be standard issue. Still no way a gun ship, or even defensive as you cant shoot these when loading/off loading but something is better than nothing.
Testing for on board laser defense weapons?...I would think that in the future we can make missiles obsolete with on board lasers defenses that could destroy or blind the IR seeker head or by burning a hole, combine that with with jamming, flares and chaff. I would think this would be the ultimate defense system.

This is a Strike Aircraft, not a true fighter, it will be escorted in high threat environments like all strike aircraft are. We have yet to see how this F35 fares when in “stealth mode” vs other aircraft...and not in a dog fight scenario. F22 is not a true dog fighter either, and still was reported to take out…
