I worked on this Lexus advert for Canada if I remember correctly and this one camera guy had this Carbon Fiber camera rig that jutted out like 10 feet from the front bumper that moved from side to side for these crazy moving shots. I asked how much it cost and he rolled his eyes.

For some reason I think this whole process of transformation started with the phrase "Hold my beer."

Damn. I worked as a PA on a few car commercial shoots so I've seen the high end stuff but I guess I never realized that's pretty much what you guys are doing as well.

I think many of us just sitting here at work don't realize how much effort and the amount of equipment it takes to get those great shots. In a world of Gymknana for free on youtube it's easy to get jaded and overlook the camera work. Epic burnout was epic BTW.

I didn't know you used it as a camera platform. What a great idea. It's awesome that you answer random questions on Jalopnik... thanks!

I was thinking maybe if the widebody kit was all carbon fiber or something but I doubt that's the deal. So no regrets on buying the Raptor as a DD? I see so many of them out in SoCal as work trucks and dailies I often wonder about driving a huge, wide, too big to park at Whole Foods, shouty ass rig.

I'd agree but I have no idea how much a widebody conversion costs. The extra body work and suspension work must add a few thousand to the bill.

The post says 12 wheeler. It has neither 12 wheels or 12 axles. Doesn't make any sense either way.

I counted 16 wheels. 6 on the trailer and 10 on the truck. Math is hard.

Election season is just the worst.

I kept reading waiting for it and it didn't happen so I read it again just to make sure.

That's not a brand new Beetle it's the old model that was called the New Beetle by VW to distinguish it from the original Beetle. Could have been as old as 1999.

Thank you!

Who was driving?

What in the wild, wild world of sports are you talking about? Grammar and punctuation always help...

I don't know why but I like this thing. I don't give a rats ass how much it costs.

I see you've got Magnum down pat there Stephen.

Let's say he had plenty of interactions with local law enforcement when he lived in Newport Beach, CA.

If you think that was bad you should see his Hummer...
