Thanks so much for posting this! As an aspiring (female) sci-fi novelist, it really makes me happy to see that other women have done what I want to do with my book. Strong, central female characters doing awesome shit.

Oooh, HATE that. Jezebel has covered the "wavy-lined ladies" trend on women's products before, and they just make me cringe. I have had clients request that look before, and I've always tried to gently usher them in another direction.
I am a graphic designer. A husband and wife team that hired me discussed the logo they wanted for their laptop store (retail and repairs), and he said to her: "No feminine colors, since we are talking about technology, after all."
I don't think everyone's saying with quite that much vitriol. Don't get me wrong— I think this video is hilarious(ly bad), but definitely in an adorable kind of way.
No, no. The real question is: Who made Jan Terri?
I've watched this video a couple of times now (I have strong willpower or something), and if laughing at Rebecca Black is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Ohh, definitely. And we're teaching her to hunt human meat.
This is Sweet Dee's "But we've only been playing fetch for an hour / why would you stop now?" face.
I'm still using my 1st gen iPhone. It's still perfectly functional, and I can still get away with charging the battery every other day (sometimes every two days).
I didn't see In Another World, but how the hell did Biutiful not win a major category? That movie was AMAZING.
Cheers to a fellow New Orleanean!
My day job is design, and I'm a busy college student. I have three pretty solid habits that have served my fiction writing well for the last few months...
Double-replied to add: thanks for asking. :)
Hahah. My parents, despite being Good Catholic Drones now, are secretly awesome. Their collection of vinyl says it all (and their high school yearbooks— very telling).
Oh, it was good! Some lip about how she doesn't ever have to go to bed at her mother's house (true, unfortunately). But an hour into My Neighbor Totoro, she was snoring so loudly that I could hear her two rooms away.
As a fellow atheist, I think you handled that correctly. It was nice of you.
Dreams are weird. I often have really sexual dreams about guys I know (other than my fiance), guys I would never ever be attracted to in real life. I often have dreams about this one guy that I went to high school with, and we never even talked, and definitely weren't friends. Not always sexual, but he somehow pops…
Get one with ceramic prongs instead of metal. It made all the difference for me.
Aw, thanks. Ever wonder what our parents did after they put us to bed when we were kids?
I'm really coming around to Florence + the Machine. Good choice!
