Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you.

I’d give it even odds that it was a cop, just not on the clock.

On the other hand we are now certain that Fedelia is never gonna call anyone that word again...

Here are some words that justify killing someone, or so I’ve heard:

While reading this the words”fighting words” kept going through my mind, so I Googled them. This is what I came up with.

Word? People are calling NOT punching someone in the face “respectability politics”? I know it’s not right to punch someone in the face for calling you out of you name, but I’m not gonna cry over it either. It ain’t right, but I get it...I’m not gonna lose any sleep over homie tho.

Yea Murder in Virginia requires malice aforethought.

Too soon...?

That’s about white.

Yes, because those crimes are punishable by death.

Shoulda been a cop and shot her instead.

Badge, tho. That, and the right skin color is basically a murder license.

But Betty Shelby, who used a gun and shot an unarmed man, unprovoked, has been acquitted of manslaughter and has her old job back. Nice.

“But don’t you dare ever fight back. Because you will be shot or imprisoned.”

Only if a Chad or Becky had died.

Dag thats basically what happened in this story - now the dude fought back and he gotta go to prison - SMH

Reminds me of that story in Spain where a white woman called a black man the n-word and said she could assault him and nothing would happen to her - then she hit him in the head with a bottle and the police sent her home.

RPO could easily have thrown in a line about being a black woman in the OASIS and choosing AVATARS to limit harassment, acknowledging that reality even in 2045, instead nothing, it’s just presumed she takes on those forms, comfortably fitting into the white gaze even in a virtual world

This is an excellent point that more or less bolsters my complaint. In many modern 80's period shows and movies a more progressive view on LGBT life is presented, but race and racism is still ignored or downplayed. RPO could easily have thrown in a line about being a black woman in the OASIS and choosing AVATARS to

Out of all the pop-culture characters available to her, would Lena Waithe’s Aech (who, both in the Ready Player One book and in reality, is a black lesbian) really choose white male robots and cyborgs as her avatars?
