Agree with Raphael here. If I had $200K to burn on a car, my first thought would be the RS200:

Agree 110% with everything stated in this article. Wagons and minivans are the most efficient and functional vehicle choices, yet people prefer stupid, bland, tippy, poor-handling SUVs for reasons they’re not entirely sure of themselves.
Out in SoCal, we have a big problem with drivers in the carpool lane going 5-10 mph SLOWER than the rest of the traffic on the right. Speaking from personal experience, these people are also deaf and/or blind since no amount of honking, high-beam flashing or tailgating will make them move over or increase their speed…
Get a ‘99-’02 Saab 9-3 Viggen. 230 hp, 5-speed stick and more back seat room and cargo space than most of today’s small SUVs. Good ones can still be found under $10K.
I bet it’ll be up on YouTube soon under the heading, “I just bought the cheapest Ferrari F355 in the US”.
My problem with screens is that cars are subject to the laws of physics and my finger often misses when trying to press a small area of a touchscreen. Levers, knobs, switches, thumbwheels and chunky buttons are much easier to operate in motion.
Or silver or black. Took me a long time to find a '99 manual C2 coupe that was a decent color.
EXACTLY, seems like Germany and northern parts of America dictated this trend. Whatever happened to good ole' fashioned solid covers?
I'm referring to these plus the amber taillights. Only early builds up to around 7/98 had them.
The ‘99 is the best year for these. Cable throttle, cable trunk release, dual-row IMS, lighter 3.4 vs 3.6 engine, plus the early ones have the better-looking IMO amber turn signals. Also easier to find one without TCS or PSM. Source: I have a 5/98 build 996 C2 coupe.
The ultimate revenge against your mother-in-law? Buy her a Sentra!
True. I guess the only options for “safe” classic motoring would be the ‘80s Saab 900 and Volvos of the period.
Thank you Porsche, but I like my rooflines flat and my ride height low. AKA function over form.
Well, Formula 1 wheels are 13", so I don’t see a problem with 18s.
Bought this 9-5 Aero nearly 5 years ago, hard to explain but does so many things well. Even though my stable always consists of 3-4 cars, this one is a ‘forever’ keeper. Everything is repairable should things go wrong (besides frame damage of course).
Took a look at the auction, all the JDM cars are described as “Off-Road/Track Use Only", so good luck with registration.
I’m 29 and I don’t care how cheap EVs get, or how quickly they charge, or how fast they accelerate. I’ll be pumping gas into my internal combustion engine even if it’s $20/gallon. Yes, I'm stubborn, see avatar.
Had an '09 CC with the DSG for about a year, the best thing about it was the seats. Amazingly comfortable.
Ok ok, I’ll restrain myself from going into a full-on anti-crossover rant here, but I really never understood the ease of entry argument. I always get my pant leg dirty in CUVs/SUVs on the door sill. Dropping down into a car seat is just so much more natural and easier than climbing up. Oh and I’m 5'11 so not short by…
