Agreed, having extensively driven my mom’s base Macan on 19" wheels w/o PASM, handling is average at best. Body roll is significant. Even my 9-5 wagon handles better, not to mention my E46 coupe.

In all honesty, we get the base 2.0 Macan out here which is very similar to the T-Roc. What we really need is the Golf R wagon.
I’ll pass on this one. Counting down the days left until 2036 when I can legally import one of the 27 NG 9-5 SportCombis in existence to the US. Hopefully a few will survive.
Mr. Peter Gilbert reached the 1 million mark single-handedly in 2006 in an ‘89 Saab 900 SPG. The car is now in a museum. http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/press/060918.html
Those people who don’t move to the center median for a left turn and then brake. No, they first brake slowly and gradually for about 100 yards until they’re going 10 mph in the left lane, THEN slowly and hesitantly move over to the empty center median to turn left...
Ditch the American car requirement, the XC90 is the correct choice for your situation.
For whatever reason, my dad (who is a car guy believe it or not) loved his ‘95 Windstar LX. It had every option available, including the digital dash w/ trip computer, captain’s chairs, rear climate and radio controls, auto-dimming rearview mirror, air suspension, etc... He still swears it was THE most comfortable car…
Always loved this rather cheeky one.
Another benefit of prolonged idling is that it helps raise the transmission oil temp as well, so it’s at a reasonable temp before you shift into R or D.
Koenigsegg had placed a generous bid to purchase Saab from GM back in 2009 and would’ve certainly followed through had GM not imposed certain restrictions relating to the use of its technology.
Hot take: I like the softness of the 996 interior. Sure, the materials feel pretty cheap, but I find the dash design better than the the flat hard-edged ones.
Does anyone know if there are any in LHD?
4 cylinder turbos are only fuel efficient at lower boost levels. A 5000-lb pickup truck with the aerodynamics of a brick cannot cruise at 75 mph without moderate boost.
My mom has a base 2.0 Macan (w/o any of the sporty options like PASM or torque vectoring) which I’ve driven several times. Feels like a slightly tightened up Q5, but far from what a real Porsche should be.
People, people - Please stop jumping to conclusions and posting comments after only reading the title. It’s a charity auction.
Knowing Porsche, the 2021 model year will feature the “Engine cover in leather” option...
I currently own a 9-5 Aero wagon, BMW E46, Porsche 996, and a Macan. The Saab more than holds its own against all the others in far more aspects than it should. Leaps and bounds ahead of the 996 interior in terms of material quality. And tons of thoughtful interior features (cooled glove box, ventilated seats, double s…
Driver-centric wraparound dash with clean flowing lines, cool green backlighting with aviation-style rolling altimeter speed readout, trademark waffle air vents, easy ergonomics, soft rounded shapes, etc. Seems all right to me. Better than the complicated and sharp-edged dashes from the Germans, which also happen to…
IMO, it’s as good a interior as we can hope for in this era of touchscreens and counterintuitive shifters.
Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that’s what gets ya.
