There’s a book called the BMP4 that gives advice to captains on preparing their vessels for transit through the High Risk Area and for responding to pirate attacks. I don’t remember it mentioning specific manoeuvres but it’s an interesting read:

You’re basing that on the assumption that the ship was turning away from the pirates.
that wasnt much of a drop, I dont imagine a stock Raptor would have had much/any trouble with that. Honestly surprised this truck couldnt even survive it
Oh, I think I get it. It’s not so much the axle is moving in the opposite direction. It’s just that the pursuer is moving at a speed that’s faster than the axle, which has slowed down considerably since it’s now bouncing off the road.

Welcome. To the Thunderdome!
I would pay good money to see a racing series in which you could use these on your opponents.
What the fuck do the police need a Can-Am for? They’re not cheap, they can’t lane split, the operator needs a special class of license, it offers little protection from the elements...
Adding unnecessary weight to the top of a car....
Let me put up some math, tell me what you think.
Playing devil’s advocate... isn’t imagining the worst case part of their job? What value is a military plan to deal with peace and prosperity? Pretty sure that plan is “go home”.
Back in the 70s or 80s, the Navy actually had a program slinging a big laser under the wing of an A-3 Skywarrior in order to shine it at submarine periscopes and permanently blind the user.
Well, I am a professional racer (retired). He did check oncoming traffic, pulled on the track, and left PLENTY of room for the other rider. The other rider just happened to crash and therefore “went wide” and took out rider number one. Wrong place, wrong time. As far as rider number one causing rider number two to go…

As a fellow fan of disruption and less legalistic oversight, red tape, etc., I’ll point you to the section that threatens him to civil penalties of $21,000 per day past the Nov. 10 due date to answer these questions, likely required in tremendous detail. That doesn’t seem much like a friendly dialogue to me.
It would be pretty dangerous for those 18 non-drivers to approach the cars though.
Wouldn’t it be the same age as the rest of the car?
Will someone tell me what the asterisk shaped ‘thing’ is for that is attached to the port-side wings?
Luckily the Navy has thought of that, and is implementing a cutting-edge strategy of “not throwing out everything else on the boat just because we got a laser”
