I know “Layla” is the more iconic and well known scene in Goodfellas, but I like Harry Nilsson’s “Jump into the Fire” the best. I love how it starts with the opening drum beat over the title card showing the date and time, then cuts to Ray Liotta snorting a line of coke and hauling a grocery bag full of handguns out

My only major problem with this list: No drug deal scene from Boogie Nights. You’ve got “Sister Christian”, “Jesse’s Girl” and “99 Luftballoons” to choose from! All three would be in my top 50, unless you’re able to count a medley as a single pick. The amount of tension throughout that scene is incredible.

Yeah, them playing the gig in Green Room was fucking great. You’re spot on about Anton Yelchin’s nervous energy in that scene.

A “steadily building atmosphere of dread” is the most important element of a good horror movie, so I’ll have to check this out.

You’re totally right about it looking and feeling like the Zapruder film! “Night of the Living Dead” is so good. It’s easily my favorite horror movie, and one of the movies I can watch over and over again. One part that tends to get overlooked that I really love is how much time they spend on the characters watching

That’s awesome. He’s always come off as incredibly likeable in all his interviews. It’s good to know he was actually like that in person too.

Jesus Christ. I think reading those comments caused more damage to my brain than if I had actually played in the NFL for 15 years.

With Nick Offerman as TR:

He should just keep his political messaging short and sweet, like his alter-ego Aldous Snow:

His toadies are awful too. You really gotta start questioning the decisions you’ve made in life when you realize you’re a sycophant to a hot sauce magnate/professional Donkey Kong player.

Then they turn their fuck up around into a victory chant since they have Wade Boggs’s pants. That one’s a classic. Cliff being the ring leader when they chase him down before he can get out of Cheers cracks me up.

Yeah, I think I’ve seen it during Big 10 football and basketball games. And two years ago when Stanford stomped my Iowa Hawkeyes in the Rose Bowl, Stanford’s band played it to troll us during halftime, which I thought was pretty funny.

The only way Trump could have redeemed himself in my eyes would have been to start out the State of the Union with “Shit. I know shit’s bad right now. With all that starvin’ bullshit. And the dust storms.” But that would have required some self awareness.

I love the one where the Cheers gang has to go to Gary’s to sing after losing a bet, and when they walk in, the bar all calls out “Norm!”

I can’t remember if that’s the one they bring in Kevin McHale to be a ringer in their basketball game. And he talks about all the funny stories Larry Bird tells about the idiots he

Holy shit, I was just gonna bring up High Maintenance! I’d never heard of it before, but saw a preview for the season premiere on HBO right before it aired, then checked it out and loved it! Finished binging all of the webisodes and first season this weekend.

When it comes to joining 90's TV shows, hanging with those assholes would be right below riding shotgun in the Party of Five parents’ car.

What the fuck does prescient mean?

Yeah, that was one of my favorite comments sections last year. And speaking of The Sopranos, the reviews they did of that back around 2011 or 2012 were pretty good too.

The TV section seems a lot harder to navigate to find show reviews too. I usually just google the show I’m looking for and “AV Club” and that takes me

You’ll get nothing and like it!
