AMD is the one that created the 64-bit instruction set all modern x86 processors use. More recently their chiplet design and 3D vcache have allowed them to beat Intel. Oh and they've had the foresight to put more VRAM in their lower end GPUs resulting in their cards performing better than Nvidia's in many newer games…

AMD has been beating NVIDIA in rasterized performance since last gen. NVIDIA still comes out on top in top tier performance because AMD doesn’t have a 4090 competitor, and in ray tracing performance, but I wouldn’t say that’s outperforming exactly, they just have a better feature set and a lot of professional software…

Hardware Unboxed did a comparison between DLSS and FSR showed that the differences between the two are relatively marginal and that while DLSS is slightly better than FSR, there’s several situations where FSR is better and that it’s hard to tell the difference between the two in motion.

Intel and Nvidia are considered the default by pretty much everyone not because they’re better but because of corporate backroom shenanigans. And “our processors only” bullshit like DLSS only make that worse.
