Yeah, that would have been cool. I think they might have been told to refrain from mentioning the Avengers or something though, because they’ve definitely stopped doing that. It’s a real shame.

Yeah, it was well-established in the first film that the suit had to fully enclose him or shrinking would be super dangerous, probably lethal.
That’s a good point. I dunno.
Ah. That’d certainly test the semi-mystical fire vulnerability they seem to have.
Has she played some fucked up characters or what?
Damn, the two of them in the background commiserating about how nobles are crazy would have been great.
I vote Davos comes too.
I dunno, do babies lost “in infancy” count? That could have been pretty young, maybe Maggy just skipped that one.
They could have gotten an unseen death (or one seen at a great distance), but it doesn’t make sense to show them seeming to get to a measure of safety and then killing them like that. It’s too visually confusing, it’d be super unsatisfying. Major characters can die, but it needs to actually read as a death or it…
I was very surprised they didn’t bring Gendry back just to kill him off. I guess they’re setting up for another succession crisis? How’s that gonna work when two of the claimants don’t want the throne, and one of them has no one significant to back his claim even if he did?
Yeah, I’m chalking that one up to “it wasn’t finished” as the in-setting reason, and “we wanted to homage the comics a bit” as the real world reason why it didn’t have them in the first appearance.
1000% Yes.
So less “this will break your sternum” and more “this will give you ridiculous outline-shaped bruises around your breasts”.
That’s, uh... progress?
I dunno, I’d say that’s less “ripped” and more “has significant muscle tone”. There’s a whole mess of dysfunction in our society around women who actually show muscle, it’s seriously screwed up. The hand-wringing over Gadot like she was going to go full steroid territory was just gross.
That is the greatest realization I have ever had about a film.
I like the new suit; the sleeveless design was a cool homage to how her various suits have looked in the comics, but with what they established about needing the full face mask I’m glad they didn’t retcon that with “JK women can shrink and still show skin”.
It was vastly better done, and Evil Fitz was so disturbing in you could really see where that one change could have so drastically altered his character. It also had the advantage of playing into “Fitz Must Suffer”, where he’s a character and an actor that is hypnotizing at portraying hardship, while Steve Rogers...…
Did we really need this story to be THIS LONG and tortuous to prove that point? If that was the point why didn’t they use something like that to defend it? They didn’t even need to be so bluntly critical of those types of fans, they could have just said “We wanted to tell a story about what happens when the ultimate…
REMEMBER.
Agreed, it was super weird. Why is he doing that NOW? He’s seemed pretty robotic before.
I don’t know about whether he can raise burned corpses; Drogon’s attack on the Lannisters sure seemed to show dragonbreath as intense enough to burn bones to ash, and there seems to be at least some level of mysticism in how effectively fire kills wights. That might prove to be a saving grace that keeps “Ultra…
