Eh, I've attended a ton of medical congresses from ACOG (American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) to ASCO (clinical oncology) and even physicians who are saving lives don't always act with 100% professionalism. Granted most physicians would not use an ad like this in an attempt to bring in patients, but

I didn't even get that implication from it, but maybe that's because I'm really not thinking about it because a Spirit airline ad isn't worth that much thought.

Does anyone else abhor the word pussy? What is it with the shock value headlines today?

It's a step in the right direction and hopefully the fact that the President is addressing this sends a message. And hopefully that message becomes action and not lip service.

I agree that we most definitely should be exploiting & addressing the instances and institutions under which women are subtly discouraged or discriminated against as it relates to STEM. While I am glad that you don't feel shamed, I have heard from multiple females in my sister's generation that sometimes they do feel

My parents keep telling me that I'm already putting too much pressure on my future spawns to be intelligent/"gifted", despite the fact that they are still haploid reproductive cells. When I was pregnant I never really thought about future little one's appearance, my husband and I were obsessed with its brain. At

These studies really show us that people google some pretty ridiculous things and give google (and internet sources) way too much credit. I mean seriously, did these people seriously expect to get answers to these questions? Yes, one can google average weight ranges for a specific height/age, but the queries that

There were already men whose work outside the home was at restaurants as chefs? And during that time women still weren't "allowed" to work outside the home, so the restaurant industry started as male and then put up boundaries (culture, logistics, etc.) that kept women out? It may just back to the fact that

"Conversely, given that this is the case, why then isn't kitchen work "men's work" in the home?"

"...taking a single school and papering it with flyers about the differences between boys and girls as a way of justifying divided classes within a single school." Agree with you here - that's absolutely ridiculous and much different than single sex schools.

:( ugh, I'm so sorry. My sister met a guy online (I think on a gaming site) and just moved out to Idaho to be with him and my entire family is on pins and needles. My parents skyped with him before my sister moved out there, but they're still terrified that the guy is really just exercising a fetish and my sister is

Charity balls and country club balls/galas!

Few people would care so much about getting others to safety. There is much that many adults can learn from this boy. What a hero.

Absolutely gorgeous and omg could Halle Berry be anymore beautiful!?! Compared to some of the other designs I have seen it seems like the dress was also an incredibly successful incremental artistic change for Saab.

Thanks! I want to live in the dress Halle Berry wore when she won an Oscar. I would even wear it today to trudge to Panera in a foot of snow.

Does anyone know offhand if specific celebrities wear a lot of Elie Saab? I feel like I don't hear Saab's name nearly enough, but to be fair, I never watch award shows or the red carpet portions. This entire collection is breathtaking.

This dress instantly made me think of Natalie Portman. Perhaps because the model sort of looks like her, but I can envision Portman in a similar dress.

I think she may be wondering why he chose to replicate the less SFW pictures. I can say with some confidence that my mother probably wouldn't want to see pictures of me in some of those poses, regardless of my gender. She also may not understand why he was willing to put those pictures of himself in the public realm.
